Former Soca Warrior midfielder Aurtis Whitley is now playing and coaching Elements, a former National League Club in the 1990s, which now campaign in the Northern Football Association zone competition.

Whitley was a member of the Trinidad and Tobago national team which lost 2-0 to England at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. Having played for San Juan Jabloteh and St Ann’s Rangers, Whitley largely disappeared from the local Pro League following the 2006 World Cup.

Recently, Whitley led Elements’ attack during a two-nil defeat of his former team St Ann’s Rangers in a pre-season friendly. Rangers were patient in their build-up play, and with just about ten minutes remaining in the first half, opened the scoring through youngster Keron Cornwall, who deftly slipped the ball under the advancing goalkeeper, having evaded the challenge of an onrushing defender inside the 18 yard box.

The second half saw much of the same from the St Ann’s unit as they maintained their discipline, and due reward came a few minutes after the restart. Shaquille Francis forced home an effort at the back post following a swift counter-attack to make it two-nil.
