ENTERPRISE YOUTHS FC held off a late challenge from Carapichaima Playmakers to prevail 2-1 on Tuesday, in the Preliminary Round of the Central Football Association (CFA) Sanitank League Cup competition.

Akil Nichols and Gerrilon Castillo were the goal-getters for Enterprise, in the 33rd and 35th minutes respectively, while Nadale Paul pulled one back for Carapichaima, in the 81st. 

Premier League action took place recently, but Fire Service FC’s quest to extent their lead over the chasing pack was halted as their game against Leeds FC, at the New Settlement Recreation Ground, last Friday was abandoned due to floodlight outages. 

Harlem Strikers demolished Inter-National Connection 7-0 on Saturday, at Frederick Settlement in Caroni. 

Duane Wells notched a hat-trick (10th, 15th and 30th), Keron Fox scored twice (20th and 41st) while Daniel Marshall (50th) and Asa Joseph (89th) had one apiece. 

On Friday, Enterprise Youths defeated Perseverance Ball Runners FC at the Hugo Francis Ground. Isaiah Smith put Perseverance ahead in the 24th but Mariba Jacob replied with a pair, in the 53rd and 82nd. 

At the Couva Recreation Ground on Thursday, Perseverance United and Central Soccer World played to a 2-2 draw. Akil London (17th) and Arkido Agard (86th) struck for Perseverance United while Dion Lewis (31st) and Andre Nicholas (56th) were on target for Central Soccer World.
