Humble, assertive, attractive. These are some of the adjectives that can aptly describe Kevaughn Connell.

The first thing one notices is his striking features and boyish good looks.

Ladies, hold on—he’s already taken.

In fact, he is in a long-term, long-distance relationship with his 21-year-old girlfriend.

He made it clear from the get go that he doesn’t consider himself to be a pretty boy.

“I just like to dress. I love the European style of dressing,” he said.

At 24, Connell is living his dream.

Currently living in Paris, France, he plays football for a French club—L’Entente Ssg.

“Paris is really nice. The infrastructure is beautiful. It’s a fast pace but it’s a beautiful city.”

How did he end up in France? Connell, who now speaks French fluently, said it was through some “connections.”

“I went to England to pursue my football career. After one year I left for France to play with As Cannes Club. My family had a connection, they knew some people.”

With such a successful and promising football career, it’s hard to believe that football wasn’t his first love.

“I was a cricketer until I was 15. I just played football for fun. I decided to switch and try football seriously and found out I was actually good.”

His boo
Despite living in France and having a competitive football career, Connell is determined to make his relationship work.

“My girlfriend lives in England now and when I moved there we would see each other regularly. We had a very close relationship. About a year later I left for France to pursue my dreams.

“I needed someone who could understand and support me. She is just that. She was there for me in everything. I think me moving to France made us even closer,” he revealed.

What does he look for in a woman? Beauty, intelligence and a good personality are his requirements. If you look anything like Halle Berry, you would score extra points.

Family is important
To Connell, the youngest of three children, family is everything.

“Up to this day my parents are my everything. I want to make them proud. They did everything for me and I just want to pay them back,” he noted with a charming smile.

Trusting in God

“j'ai mis toute ma confiance dans dieu,” he said. (French for “I put all my trust in God”)

“God is a very big part of my life. I trust in Him for everything. In five years I want to be playing the highest level of football. I would love to play in a World Cup and a Champions League. I would also like to start a family, I want three girls.”

Connell definitely has a winning spirit. For him the sky is indeed the limit.
