Former National Under 20 captain Duane Muckette suffered a torn MCL recently while in training with the University of South Florida, an injury which ruled him out of the upcoming Caribbean Under 20 Finals in Trinidad starting September 12th.

Muckette was invited to join the team and was on schedule to join Derek King’s squad before suffering the grade II tear which fortunately does not require surgery.

“I’ve started jogging today,” Muckette said on Tuesday. “Hopefully I’ll be back to myself again and able to play soon. I’d like to wish the national team the best in the tournament and hopefully we can move on to the Final CONCACAF round in January,” Muckette added.

T&T are grouped with Curacao, Suriname and Cuba and will begin their campaign on September 12th. The 2015 FIFA Under 20 World Cup will be held in New Zealand.
