TT Pro League clubs Defence Force and Caledonia AIA will look to fly the Trinidad and Tobago flag high on Friday night at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar when they take on Milerock FC of Guyana(6pm) and Tempête FC of Haiti (8pm) respectively.

Defence Force already has a leg into the semi-final round of the 2011 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championship having defeated Milerock 4-0 in their first-leg clash of Round Two in Guyana.

Meantime Caledonia, which made its CFU debut this season, will begin its Second Round with Friday’s first-leg tie against the Haitians club.

The semifinals and finals are set for the end of May, from which three teams will advance to next season's CONCACAF Champions League.

Both Trinidad and Tobago clubs, Defence Force and Caledonia cruised into the second round of the CFU Club Championship with 4:1 and 6:0 aggregate scores over Bermuda’s Dandy Town Hornets and St. Kitts/Nevis’ Newtown United respectively.

Coach Ross Russell of Defence Force and Coach Jamaal Shabazz of Caledonia are now hoping for strong home support on Friday.

“We want the fans to come out and support our team and Caledonia because Trinidad and Tobago football needs support,” said Russell who guided Defence Force to the 2010-2011 Digicel Pro League Championship.

He added, “We need to get back on the map, especially at club level. We are hoping that the fans will ram the Larry Gomes Stadium as we are doing our bid. We are hoping the Arima people do as the south people did in our last home CFU match. We are hoping we play in front of a packed stadium.”

“We are playing at home, but playing way up at the Larry Gomes Stadium is not necessarily a playing at home scenario unless the national community comes out and give that support,” explained Shabazz who finished runner-up with Caledonia in the League Championship.

“I would love for the people of Trinidad and Tobago; the people of Morvant/Laventille to come out and support the team and become the twelfth player so that we can have that added motivation to go out and win the game,” Shabazz concluded.
