The sixth TranSouth Athletic Conference men's soccer weekly awards have been announced, and this week the honors are split between Mid-Continent University and Bethel University. Keagan Bacchus of Mid-Continent earns the TranSouth's Offensive Player of the Week nod, while Bethel's Christopher Baker earns the Defensive Player of the Week honor. The honors are the first in each player's respective career, and are given for performances during the week ending October 7, 2012.

Bacchus, a 6'1" Junior Forward from Pt. Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago, tallied four goals in the Mid-Continent's two wins over Williams Baptist College on the week. In the match at Williams Baptist, Bacchus tallied the game winning goal in the 16th minute, as the Cougars snapped a five match winless streak. When the two teams met again in Mayfield, Bacchus again opened the scoring, this time in the 36th minute of the Cougars 4-2 win. In both matches, Bacchus also had the last goal of the game. He is now tied for the lead in goals in the TranSouth.

Baker, a 5'11" Junior Goalkeeper from Reading, England, posted a shutout in the Wildcats' 6-0 win over the Freed-Hardeman University Lions, as Bethel improved to 2-0 in the TranSouth. In the match, Baker turned aside three Freed-Hardeman shots, all in the second half of play. The clean sheet is the third of the season for Baker.
