Three second half goals paced the Washington Huskies to a 4-1 victory over the College of Charleston Cougars on Friday afternoon in game one of the 2008 Furman Diadora/Spinx Invitational.

With the loss, the Cougars fall to 1-2-0 on the year, while Washington improves to 1-2-0.

In the first half, Washington got on the board when Rafael Cox scored in the 11th minute off a deflection from a Charleston defender. The Cougars managed to take one shot on goal in the half, while Washington took five.

In the second half, the Huskies pulled away after scoring three goals in a six minute span, as Brent Richards, Adam Lang and Dylan Tucker-Gagnes scored.

The Cougars lone goal on the night was scored in the 55th minute by Kareem Yearwood on a header. The goal was Yearwood's second on the year. Matt Morris was awarded an assist on the Yearwood goal.

The Cougars return to the pitch on Sunday when they finish off play in the Furman Invitational with a match against Bowling Green at 11:30 a.m. Washington will take on host Furman at 2 p.m.
