Senior Kyle Hall (Toronto, Ontario) is the Syracuse University Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of September 8, 2008.

The Syracuse men's soccer team (3-0-1) took part in the 33rd annual Mayor's Cup in Oneonta, N.Y. on Friday, Sept. 5. The Orange has never lost a game at the tournament and continued the trend as it shutout Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday, Sept. 7 by a 3-0 tally as well as taking down UNC-Wilmington on Friday night, 1-0.

Hall was presented with the Jim Lennox Award as tournament’s Offensive MVP. Hall tallied SU’s third goal Sunday, in addition to notching the game-winner Friday. Hall's weekend production boosted his SU career goal total to 11. Friday's clincher marked Hall's third straight season of notching a game-winning goal for the Orange. The senior from Canada is majoring in finance.

The Orange allowed only two shots against Florida Gulf Coast after giving up only seven to UNC-Wilmington in its opening game. Sunday's victory extended the Orange’s non-conference unbeaten streak to 17 games (12-0-5) dating back to 2005.

Syracuse returns home on Thursday, Sept. 11 for a non-conference match with Monmouth. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium.
