Seven goals allowed the Shorter College men's soccer team to stay undefeated in conference play on Saturday, as they beat the Faulkner University Eagles 7-1.

In the first half, senior captain Mark Beattie scored the first goal on a cross over the mouth of the goal from Dallas Dickerson in the 7th minute. Elliot Livesey scored the Hawks' second goal almost ten minutes later.

A goal from Anthony O'Garro (on a Dickerson corner kick), and career-first goals from James Malcolm (assisted by Robert Whitnell) and Preston Watson (again assisted by Whitnell) put the Hawks up 5-0 going into halftime.

In the second half, Faulkner got on the board first in the 53rd minute on a Siaka Kone goal. The Hawks countered 16 minutes later as Ryan Timberlake sent one in the goal on a pass from Whitnell to take the 6-1 lead.

Shorter's last goal came in the 92nd minute from Whitnell, assisted by Watson, to give Shorter the win 7-1.

"It was another good win for us," said Whitnell. "We just need to take it on from here to our game against Emmanuel. Everything is starting to come together and we hope to carry on a good win streak."

Johnny Paletar and Michael Bruce combined on goalkeeper duties for four saves.

Shorter continues play on Tuesday against conference foe Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga., at 5 p.m.
