Yohance MarshallUniversity of South Florida senior defender Yohance Marshall was named to the 2008 College Soccer News and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Men's Division I All-America Team.

“I am excited for Yohance,” said USF head coach George Kiefer. “He has worked hard all year, and has led this team with his leadership. He knows what it takes to be successful.”

College Soccer News placed Marshall on their first team list, while he earned third team honors for the NSCAA. Marshall is the eighth All-America honoree in program history.  The last Bull to earn the national award was Jeff Cunningham in 1997.

Marshall, from Malabar Arima, Trinidad, helped the Bulls to a school-record 12 shutouts in 22 games.  The All-American scored two goals and dished out two assists in the regular season. His six total points were the fourth-best on the team, despite being a defender. He was a first team All-BIG EAST selection,  the BIG EAST Tournament’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player and a Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award finalist. Marshall also accumulated eight weekly awards throughout the year.

The 6’2 standout is one of the initial group of 65, who have been invited to the MLS scouting combine Jan. 9-13 at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. All 15 MLS teams will be represented at the annual event, which will end two days before the draft in St. Louis. Joining Marshall will be fellow seniors Kevon Neaves and Jordan Seabrook. College Soccer News projects Marshall as the No. 1 defender entering the combine.
