The University of Maine Fort Kent men’s soccer team built a 3-0 halftime lead and defeated county foe Maine Presque Isle 4-0 Wednesday afternoon in Sunrise Conference action on Alumni Memorial Field in Fort Kent, Maine.  The Bengal men move to 11-0-1 with the win and 7-0 in SC play.  UMFK has now gone 48 consecutive regular season games without a defeat.  UMPI falls to 8-3-2 with the loss and 4-2-1 in SC play.

Spencer Jacoby (Johannesburg, South Africa) scored the games’ first goal in the fifth minute on a free kick from just inside mid-field.  Sophomore forward Keith Williams (Trinidad & Tobago) shielded UMPI goal keeper Richard Felbaum (Saco, ME) as the ball by Jacoby found the back corner of the UMPI net.  Junior Andre Anderson (Manchester, Jamaica) would strike next on a service from back Oniqueky Samuels (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) as he settled a crossing pass off his chest and scored with his left foot to put UMFK up 2-0 in the 32nd minute.  Williams then added the third goal of the first half in the 39th minute as he shot a low ball to the left of the net from the top center of the 18 yard box beating Felbaum for a 3-0 halftime lead.  Walford Stewart (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) added an insurance goal in the second half for UMFK in the sixty fifth minute for the final score.

Giovanni Sinclair (St. Elizabeth, Jamaica) made one save on one shot for the win in goal for UMFK while Richard Felbaum faced 10 shots on goal (22 overall) making six saves on the day for UMPI.
