The Colorado School of Mines men's soccer team surrendered a goal early in the match and was unable to overcome the deficit falling on the road in non-conference action to #18 Fort Lewis at Dirks Field on Sunday afternoon.

The Skyhawks scored just 1:43 into the match as Kosta Kordistos notched his third goal of the season assisted by Thomas Hoang. FLC added a second goal in the 65th minute as Aaron Kloer headed home a Joey Madigan cross.

Mines scored its lone goal of the match in the 73rd minute as Chike Sullivan scored his first goal of the season on the assist from Tesho Akindele.

Manville Strand made nine saves in goal for CSM in the loss.

The Orediggers (2-1 overall) open conference play on the road at Colorado Mesa University on Friday, Sept. 16th at 7:00 pm. Mines will return home to host UC-Colorado Springs on Sunday, Sept. 18th at 12:00 pm.
