After stunning the defending champions in the last match day, WASA secured another dramatic victory, this one a 1-0 win of newly protomoted Siparia Spurs, at the Palo Seco Velodrome, to go top of the blink/bmobile National Super League, on Sunday.

The winning goal came in the last minute of regulation time, through a Glen Walker effort, securing WASA all three points and a one point lead at the league’s summit.

The 2011/2012 treble winner bmobile Joe Public also left it late but, recovered from the previous Sunday’s loss to WASA, to drop Real Maracas 2-1, at the Marvin Lee Stadium.

Former national midfielder Andre Toussaint opened the scoring in the third minute, but his lead was short lived at Real Maracas responded in the 12th minute through a Michael Alexis item.

The Eastern Lions then left it late, but inevitably stole all three points when Julian Landeau found the back of the net in the 86th minute.

If the said matches weren’t surprising, the Youth Camp in Chaguaramas played host to a stunner. After holding a 4-0 lead at half time, Defence Force completely flopped, allowing Eagles United to recover for its second win of the campaign, with a 6-5 victory.

Kellon Serrette, Samuel Delice and Jamal Goodridge all scored first half goals for Defence Force, with an own goal, rounding up the half time score.

Delice got another goal half way through the second half for the “Tetron Boys” but a hat-trick from Wayne Monseque, and lone items from Johnathan Marcelle, Ian James and Glenwell John, recorded what was one of the best ever comebacks in the history of the league.

The other match Stokely Vale and Club Sando, which was scheduled to take place in Plymouth, Tobago, was cancelled and has been rescheduled for August 26.
