Westside Superstarz Football Club jumped into the lone lead of the bmobile National Super League on Sunday by edging Club Sando 1-0 at Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella.

Former St Anthony's College star midfielder Troy Thompson provided the winner in the 26th minute and there was no answer from Sando, allowing Superstarz to separate themselves at the top from defending champions Joe Public FC.

The "Eastern Lions" slipped up at home to Siparia Spurs at Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya, as the visitors held them to a 1-1 draw.

Spurs' Chris Collins handed them the equaliser in the 68th minute, after Joe Public's Brent Antoine secured a 1-0 half-time lead for the hosts.

The only high-scoring match on the day was the contest between Defence Force and FC Santa Rosa at UTT's O'Meara campus, which ended 4-3 in favour of the Army/Coast Guard combined side.

Jevaughn Vance, a former St Augustine Secondary skipper, gave Santa Rosa a 3-2 advantage in the 48th minute after the teams were locked at 2-2 at half-time. But Dave Long (53rd) and Levi Serries (81st) ensured the Army would have full points in the second half.

Other results saw former Super League champions WASA FC edge Tobago's Stokely Vale FC 2-0 late on at Plymouth Recreation Ground.

Cellar-placed Biche United could not move off the bottom of the standings despite notching their first victory as they thumped the other Tobago team, 1976 FC Phoenix, 2-0 at Biche Recreation Ground.

And at Maracas Recreation Ground in St Joseph, Real Maracas and Eagles United played out a 0-0 draw.
