League leader WASA FC will be looking to maintain its place at the top of the blink/bmobile National Super League standings, when it travels to the Maracas Recreation Ground, St Joseph, to take on Real Maracas, today.

The match, along with the five other fixtures, will kick off at 4 pm. While WASA FC is expected to take full points against a Real Maracas team which sits third from bottom, the “Waterboys” will need to put on a stronger attacking performance from that of its second match day result, when the reverse fixture saw both teams finish with a 0-0 stalemate, at WASA Ground, St Joseph.

Its two nearest challengers, bmobile Joe Public and Westside Superstarz, are also expected to pick up full points against their respective opponents, Defence Force and Biche United.

Joe Public, which sits three points behind WASA in second, made easy work of Defence Force in the first leg league encounter in June, taking a 3-0 victory at Youth Camp, Chaguaramas.

Ricardo Bennett scored with less than 60 seconds on the clock, before Ellis Dyett (11th) and Donovan Derrick (70th) ensured a comprehensive win for the 2011 treble champion. Westside, which has a match in hand, remains statistically the best attacking team in the league with 21 goals in 11 matches.

After losing 5-1 to Joe Public on the opening day, the Westmoorings based team responded with a 4-0 victory over newly promoted Biche United a week later, a result which it will be looking to reproduce, despite the loss of several key players throughout the season.

In another exciting match-up, Stokely Vale will be looking to complete the double over fellow Tobago outfit 1976 FC Phoenix, when the two teams meet at the Plymouth Recreation Ground. Stokely Vale won the first leg 1-0 thanks to a late effort goal from Deon Thomas.
