Last season’s runners-up Club Sando, may well have the slight advantage over champions Guaya United, when they meet in a 2014 National Super League opener from 3.30 p.m. today at Guayaguare Recreation ground.

The 16-team semi-professional Super League football competition begins today with eight matches across Trinidad and Tobago, the feature being the clash of last year’s top two.

Club Sando are expected to field a very strong team, having maintained most of the squad that  led the competition for most of last season before finishing a point behind eventually winners Guaya. Meanwhile, the home team Guaya will field separate teams in the Super League and Pro League this season, and it is suspected that they might may just struggle to field a top team in the second tier competition.
