Defence Force win big in Super League.
T&T Express Reports.

A five-goal haul from the Defence Force FC was enough to send them to the top of the National Super League standings, as they thrashed NLCB La Horquetta 5-2 at the Youth Camp Grounds in Macqueripe. The Super League continued on Sunday with the soldiers putting in the standout performance of the round.

Micheal Edwards netted in the 13th, 45th and 87th minute to not only bag his hat-trick, but to make deadly sure that the Defence Force would seal the points. Josimar Belgrave scored the other two in the 22nd and 90th minutes to round off their romp. The win saw them secure first spot with 12 points.

The other big movers in the table were Police FC, who recorded another win to move up to second in the table. Jason Boodram, Kareem Perry and Kemrol Purcell all found the back of the net to give the lawmen a three-goal cushion over Bethel United. Ex-Royalian Carron Williams netted the consolation for the Tobago-based team in the 90th minute.

Club Sando Moruga, Stokely Vale and Real Maracas did themselves no favours failing to get maxmum points, as their draws see them sitting in 12th, 14th and 15th respectively. Club Sando drew with Guaya United FC 1-1, with Nigel John's 30th-minute strike was cancelled out by Beville Joseph 56th-minute equaliser. Real Maracas' 2-2 draw sees them in last place with a game in hand. Stokely Vale sit right above Maracas after having drawn 1-1 with Marabella Family Crisis Centre, who benefitted from the result as it pushed them up to third place.

WASA FC won their first match since the opening matchday, after they defeated Petrotrin Palo Seco 2-0 with goals from Akil Harley in the 29th minute and Keron Clarke in the 90th. FC Santa Rosa squandered a 2-0 lead after Rashard Griffith's early brace in the 7th and 30th minutes were eventually cancelled out and overtaken by Christopher Morgtan and Lejandro Williams, who scored a quickfire brace in two minutes shortly after the half-time break.
