WASA FC claimed their fourth win and in the process moved into second place in the standings, as play in the bmobile National Super Football League continued yesterday.

The water company who started yesterday’s contest in third place on eleven points, one behind second place Economy Strikers, eased to a comfortable 3-0 win over East West Coaching School at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar.

Steven Stoute opened the scoring for the utility company in the 17th minute, before Michael Celestine double the lead with a goal four minutes later. The issue was sealed by Fabien Garcia in the 80th minute, giving WASA the win over bottom place East/West, who are still to register their first win of the league. The win pushed WASA past Strikers into second, after the latter had a shock 4-0 defeat at the hands of Queen’s Park Cricket Club.

Meanwhile, Celestine now heads all goal scorers with seven, followed by Andy London of Club Sando and Dorian Daniel of Economy Strikers on five each.

In the match played at the Sangre Grande Recreational Ground, Queen’s Park led by a double from Brendon Barry, stunned the Strikers, who were looking to bounce back from their 2-1 loss at the hands of M & M Harvard in their last match.

Jason Charles scored the opener in the 21st minute before Barry netted the first of his two in the 39th. Vladimir Anderson Suite would then get into the action when he made it 3-0 in the 70th minute, before Barry closed things off with his second in the 76th to give Queen’s Park the win.
