TORREON, Mexico - Rodolfo Reyes scored a goal in each half to help lift Santos to a 5-0 victory against San Juan Jabloteh at Nuevo Estadio Corona Wednesday night, completing an aggregate rout that will give Mexico four teams in the Group Stage of the CONCACAF Champions League.

Santos, which won 1-0 in Trinidad last week, advances to play in Group B with the Columbus Crew, Municipal and the winner of the series between Brujas and Joe Public, which will finish Thursday.

It's the third straight year Mexico will have all four of its teams playing in the league phase of the competition.

Reyes put the hosts ahead in the third minute. Juan Pablo Santiago chipped a ball behind the Jabloteh defense, freeing Reyes on goal. The Mexican forward took the pass on two bounces and tapped past goalkeeper Cleon John from 10 meters.

Reyes nearly added a second goal five minutes later, but his blast from 14 meters sailed wide of the near post.

In the 21st minute, Rodrigo Ruiz latched onto Oribe Peralta's cross, but his diving header inside the six-yard box was just wide of the net. Five minutes later, Peralta fired a low shot that bounced wide to John's left from 23 meters.

Santos should have doubled its lead in the 32nd minute when Canadian referee Paul Ward pointed to the spot after Robert Primus pushed down Peralta inside the box. But John dived to his right to rob Peralta and then pounced to smother the rebound from his foot.

San Juan Jabloteh had a rare scoring chance in first-half stoppage time when Jaime Toledo was booked for a dangerous tackle. But goalkeeper Miguel Becerra wasn't even challenged as Marvin Oliver's free kick was easily cleared by the Santos defense.

Rodolfo Salinas made it 2-0 for Santos in the opening minute of the second half, taking a touch inside the box and putting a low shot off the diving John and in from 16 meters.

Carlos Darwin Quintero nearly capitalized on a bad clearance attempt, spinning into space inside the box and alone on the keeper. But John did well to make the point-blank save in the 66th minute.

Three minutes later, Santos had a goal called back when the assistant referee ruled Ruiz was offside when he took a rebound off the crossbar and put it past John.

Quintero continued to trouble the Jabloteh defense with his speed and, after a few near misses, the Colombian scored in the 73rd minute, easily tapping Rafa Figueroa's cross into the open net after John came out to challenge.

With Santos in total control, the only question remaining would be whether Becerra would come away with a shutout. That was in jeopardy in the 78th minute when he fumbled a long distance attempt and helplessly watched as Oliver smashed the rebound off the crossbar.

On the other end, Reyes had no problem adding a fourth on the night, bouncing a shot past a frustrated John in the 80th minute.

Arnulfo Gonzalez added to Jabloteh's misery three minutes later, scoring to John's right from 24 meters to cap a thorough victory for Santos.
