Evans Wise signs with German Second Division club.

By: Shaun Fuentes.
28-May-2002 - Local midfielder Evans Wise has signed a two-year deal with newly promoted German Bundesliga Two League club SV Wacker Burghausen.
Wise, now holidaying in the United States will return to Germany next month to begin his new deal following a transfer from SVG Elversberg worth close to US$400,000 last month.
The former Tampa Bay Mutiny playmaker ended the recent season on a high, scoring six goals in eight matches to catch the eyes of Wacker officials. Wise was ecstatic over the new move particularly after having to overcome the death of his mother earlier this year.
"Everything is really going well at the moment. The new deal came as a result of a series of good performances because I was really went through a tough period when my Mom dies earlier this year. Now having signed with this new club, our intentions are to continue the good run and move up into the Bundesliga First Division," said Wise.
The former St Anthony's College player who last represented T&T in a 3-0 loss to Costa Rica last March still relishes the chance of representing the country but has no problems with the opportunity being given to younger players ahead of the 2006 Germany World Cup.
"Now is time to give youths the chance to represent the country .I think we could more than compete with countries like USA and Costa Rica and even do better than them in qualification. We could only look forward and give the youths the chance to play now. If the chance comes, it's all good but I don't really see myself having an active part. I'm not making anything a problem. I'm just being realistic when I say that the younger players have to step up now," added Wise.
