The TTFA/Scotiabank Grassroots Programme will stage its fourth clinic tomorrow at the Ojoe Road Recreation Ground in Sangre Grande after kick off in Roxborough, Tobago last week.

Led by Technical Director Muhammad Isa and his cadre of local TTFA certified coaches, the program has seen just over 300 kids from schools in Roxborough and Canaan,  Tobago, the Morvant/Laventille district and the Eastern Football Association take part in separate three-hour clinics at different venues.

On Wednesday the programme continued at the Eddie Hart Ground, Tacarigua where fifty kids participated in the exercise.

Isa described the programme so far as exciting  and eye-opening for the youngsters.

“So far we have covered just over three hundred kids between the ages of six to sixteen years, both girls and boys from different walks of life, different backgrounds and all with a desire to enjoy and learn more about the game,” Isa told TTFA Media.

Several other venues are targeted for the eight week programme including Tabaquite, Barrackpore and the Cushe Recreation Ground among others.

“What we are aiming to do is spread the game and reach out to kids in areas that may not usually be exposed to this kind of opportunity. In collaboration with our partner, the Scotiabank Foundation, we are quite pleased to see the response so far and we expect there to be continued interest for the remainder of the campaign.

“We are observing and evaluating every sessions and the top performers will also have the opportunity to try out or train with some of our national youth teams in the future.Overall we are on the right path with regards to getting the benefits out of a programme such as this,” Isa added.

On Wednesday, the top five performers were St Joseph’s Convent student Alyssa Knox, Jovonn Gomes of the Victory Academy, Jadon Stewart, Sadiq Damree of El Dorado East Secondary and six year-old Tevez Nanton. The each received a football from the TTFA.
