The Southern Football Association (SFA) has appointed its recently elected 1st Vice President, former National footballer Mr. Richard Quanchan to represent the Regional Association on the Executive of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF).

As Head, Employee Relations, E&P at Petrotrin, Mr. Quanchan brings a significant wealth of administrative, sporting knowledge and experience to bear on the national football leadership.

Over the past 40 years Mr. Quanchan has served sport, especially Football and Hockey in its varied facets.

From his base at Petrotrin’s prdecessor company TEXACO and continuing into the present, he has carved out an envious sporting niche in which he is still active as a playing member of the Petrotrin All Stars Veterans Football Team.

From the 1970s he was not only Texaco’s Team Captain, he progressed through South  Under 19, 23 and Seniors teams to represent T&T on National Teams between 1979-82.

He has also taken time to address the developmental aspect of the sport through his Level 1 FA Badge qualification.

He has also made a name for himself in national Hockey, captaining TEXACO, TRINTOC and PETROTRIN teams playing at the highest level of the game.

His prowess earned him accolades as South Captain and National Captain for 4years, while representing T&T from 1975-87.

Qualifying as a Coach in Germany and attending High Performance Coaching Programmes in Germany, Argentina and the USA translated into guiding national teams (Men & Ladies) to success in international competitions at the Commonwealth, Pan Am and CAC Games.

With two (2) WITCO Sports Personality of the Year nominations (Hockey), as Hockey Section and the Petrotrin Sports Club, PaP Chairman along with being Technical Director of the United Petrotrin FC which played in the PFL, Mr. Quanchan is emmeniently qualified to take on the challenges of assisting to steer the TTFF and SFA football to a brighter future.
