Hamilton striker Jason Scotland admitted his side didn’t create enough chances as they crashed out of the Scottish Cup fourth round against Partick Thistle.

The former Trinidad and Tobago international says he’s as guilty as anybody else for Accies’ surprising lack of cutting edge at Firhill, and was disappointed to exit the competition.

He said: “I don’t think we created enough up front, and I look at myself and think I could maybe have created a bit more.

“It was a tough day at the office and I don’t think we played well, so we’re disappointed.

“It was good for me to be back playing, because I hadn’t played for some time, but it was just disappointing that we didn’t play as well as we could have.”

Scotland hopes for better fortunes against Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Saturday and said: “It doesn’t come much bigger than that, and they beat us in the League Cup about three weeks ago. They lost against Dundee on Saturday as well, so it will be about who wants it more next week.

“It will be difficult but we need to bounce back.”
