Walsall’s international goalkeeper Clayton Ince has urged Saddlers supporters to be patient.

Ince, who has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in League One over the last couple of seasons, is one of a few of last season’s team to be in the team this time around.

He insists: “It takes time got everything to gel. What people have to remember is that this a young side and a new one.

“Since last season, we have had a plenty of new faces. Two of our most experienced players, Stephen Hughes and Marco Reich, only came into the squad just before the season started.

“Of course, we will make mistakes but it is important we learn from them and I am sure we will do that.

“It’s much better to concentrate on what we do well and there have been positives this season.

“We know we did not play well against Crewe. We have to put that from our minds now and get on with the job of clinching another win.”

Ince is quick to accept his own responsibility.

He said: “We have good young players in the squad and it is up to the experienced players to pass on their experience but most of our youngsters got the taste for first team football last season.”
