Gudjon Thordarson has admitted that the club would consider turning Dennis Lawrence's loan deal into a more permanent one this summer if it suited all parties. The Alex boss, players and supporters could not fail to have been impressed by the performances of the towering centre-half.

The experienced centre-half is out-of-contract at his parent club Swansea City in the summer and Thordarson has admitted that his availability has been discussed at board level.

Thordarson told the club's official web-site: "It is easy to sign players. Anybody can do it but the hard part is getting quality players in. I am perfectly happy to wait for the right player to become available.

"I won't commit to someone if I am happy with it."

On the possibility of signing Lawrence in the summer, Thordarson said: "We have liked having Dennis here with us and I am sure he has enjoyed himself too. He is good in the dressing room and out on the pitch and his future has been spoken about.

"It is something we will consider in the summer when he is out of contract. I have discussed it with the board and we'll have to wait and see."
