Goalkeeper Tony Warner was the Tranmere hero as they escaped with a goalless draw at Oldham.

Veteran Warner repelled a dominant home side who created several chances but have now gone 12 games without a win.

Filipe Morais shot over from 20 yards as Oldham made a lively start and, on 19 minutes, Warner had to make a flying save from Jason Lowe.

Dean Furman drilled a volley just wide for the Latics, who also carved out a chance which was squandered by Chris Taylor. Lowe fired the next opening off target before Warner again did well to keep out Taylor's near post effort.

Morais flashed inches wide as Oldham's pressure continued into the second half but Warner made another smart save when Oumare Tounkara found space 12 yards out.

Brave Tranmere defending blocked Aidan White when the substitute was about to let fly, while Morais just failed to reach White's teasing cross.
