Jason Norville scored his first goals for Barnet in the 3-1 victory over Colchester United in the Pontins Holidays Combination at Underhill.

With Gary Phillips operating a 4-4-2 formation for the Reserves, Norville's fellow striker Lee Roache added the other goal in Barnet's first win of the season.

Barnet included five trialists, Andy Reilly, the former Wycombe Wanderers left-back who was with Barnet briefly last season, Avun Jephcott, played league football for Coventry City, centre back Nick Hawkins, former Nottingham Forest, former Fulham schoolboy Glenn Kendall and Wayne Wilson, released by Charlton Athletic.

Norville took the ball on the edge of the box for the first goal after 27 minutes, beat his man and shot in left footed. Roache added the second four minutes later after a five man passing move and a clever chip from Norville to his fellow striker. Goal number three, five minutes after the restart, followed a brilliant run half the length of the field by Louis Soares, who unselfishly gave Norville an easy chance.

Barnet brought on three Protec youngsters as substitute and Luke Marjid hit the bar with a rasping shot from outside the area before Colchester's Russell Pond pulled one back.
