It may have been at the other end of the park that Dundee eventually won the Brechin match, but they wouldn't have been in a position to snatch the points had it not been for a fantastic save from Kelvin Jack just minutes before the Dee were awarded that penalty. We spoke to the giant stopper about the match.

He was in happy mood following a solid person performance and the win and told us about that save "It was a terrific strike by the Brechin player (Kevin Byers) and that's what you work in training for, so that on a Saturday you can make saves like that when you need to. After the one in Bahrain (a last minute stop which ensured Trinidad and Tobago's qualification for the finals in Germany) that's two good saves in consecutive games, hopefully I can keep up that kind of form. It was good to have a clean sheet and if I play well it may rub off on the team, and we might manage to go on a little bit of a run."

Jack was happy to with the way his team-mates had gone about their business "I though we passed the ball really well, Brechin came here and sat back and sometimes it's very difficult to break a team down when they come and just sit back. You have to be patient and keep stretching them, eventually we were rewarded.

On the weeks ahead the keeper was hopeful that Dundee would now get their season back on track "We have to get on with it and try to close the gap as much as we can on St Mirren, the only way we can do that is to try to get some consistency in our play. If we can get more consistent than we'll be able to challenge for promotion. It will be difficult because it's a big gap, but if we can get some wins together, and we still have to play St Mirren as well, you never know what can happen.

There was a fair contrast in weather between his last match in the heat of Bahrain and the visit of Brechin on a chilly November afternoon "I think it was about 20 degrees colder" he said "But you just have to try to adapt, you just concentrate and the cold doesn't really enter your mind until afterwards. It's only after the game you realise it's freezing.

There was a certain amount of fall out over Jack's failure to make the previous weeks Ross County match, but understandably the keeper didn't want to say to much about that situation "The manager was very professional about the situation, we sat down and had a chat about what transpired" Kelvin said "I told him my side of the story and everything is back to normal."
