Post by: E-man on June 08, 2009, 03:17:55 PM
dvd release is next week.

Clips including T&T are in it. I'm seeing Edwards, Yorke and Whitley in the trailer.

Wonder if Jack pocketed their appearance fees - what was the deal again? if more than 3 players in an image or something it went to TTFF.

I remember reading the plot and Gavin Harris was in the England squad and he would come up against Santiago at the Cup

ok.. so I saw Goal! (The first one).. pretty decent flick. rags to riches story bout the mexican yute that when from small goal sweat to Newcastle Utd.
Low budget but good enough to appreciate as football fans.

So I boro Goal II on netflix de odder day...a continuation of part one when he went from Newcastle to Real Madrid...
was'nt all that good to be honest.... we can appreciate it sice we love the sport and we know Epl, La Liga etc. the reviews was not good either.

Now here comes part three. 3rd installment of a move that went stratight to DVD... I would watch it just to see Carlos and dem cameo.. but more important to see if i see mehself in the stands in nurenberg.. ;D

my opinion.. borrow it..(don't buy it)

I saw this movie on DVD. TOTAL BULLOCKS. Goal I and II were good flicks, this was real crap. A very big disappointment. Don't want to spoil it for anyone but there is a reason it went straight to DVD. They seemed to radically deviate from the original plot.

Nah the first one was in theatres.  I dunno about the 2nd.

Goal 3 is utter garbage.  Unlike the first two, instead of having real footballers acting in the same scenes as the actors, they used footage of actual games on a green screen and had the actors runnin around pretending to be in a game.
There were no scenes with the actors and real players together off the pitch either.
I guess they had a smaller budget than for the first two.

Could be that all the WC footage cost a pretty penny and eat up de budget.
De close ups of the actors superimposed on the field of play look kinda lame in de preview. Dream Team looks like it does a better job blending players into real games

Goal 3 review:

This movie is a complete mess. It done spoil so I'm not giving a spoil alert here. It's not even about Santi. He gets injured and never plays football in the whole movie.

I can only guess that something bad happened with the production - they lost adidas money, they couldn't get back the other actor who played Harris - I don't know what it was but this is a completely separate story about the two new English guys who make the WC team.

They spend half the movie trying to develop these 2 new characters. One of them scores an extra goal in the Sweden game, giving England the win. He then dies of an aneurysm and there's a funeral between WC games! The other guy misses the final England penalty against Portugal (same result as reality, just this guy instead of Carragher)

There are some fan scenes with stereotyped opposition. T&T fans are all rasta pot smokers, Sweden fans are blond haired bimbos. Paraguay fans ? are left out - no personality to stererotype maybe?

Bottom line - no follow up on the Harris character, not about Santi - he's a minor character. The movie seems to be some kind of sympathy capturing attempt at England's WC loss. That was actually the best part - after he misses the penalty and all the wailing and wining English fans

Don't bother spending a lot of time downloading this.

Saw all three movies...actually have the first 2 on dvd...this third one...well yes. I never see a continuation story that had no connection like this one. As said before this one wasn't even about Santi and the just drop the story about him and the wifey...VERY DISAPPOINTING
