I don't understand how this works, did ATL pay him the $27.9M he was supposed to make this year and he gave back $2.4M? Or he gave ATL that amount without being paid?

they changed the rules of the weighted balls. The worst team had a 25% chance before, this year the worst team only had 14% . The NBA is trying to avoid tanking.... a bit too late, Philly did it for years and the NBA did nothing... same team for years.
