What TT cricketer once turned down a contract offer to play professional football.

Let me be a little clearer. He made his FC debut in the late 70s and turned down the Prof football offer in the 80s.

The answer is Ruskin Thomas Mark, a present Sports Journalist in TT.
http://www.sportarchivestt.com/athletes/ruskin-thomas-mark/
Actually, Mark’s football talent also made decision-makers in football take note. While playing for Malvern in the early 1980s, he was approached by Arthur Suite, the football honcho at the time in Trinidad and Tobago. Suite owned the only professional team, Aviation Services Limited (ASL), on the island. Mark was offered a professional contract to play in his usual central defence position but turned it down and opted to pursue his bigger dream of journalism, instead.
