Saintfiet also spoke on the topic of Latapy’s involvement with the youth programme and how their services can be combined to benefit both.

“I think that it’s going hand in hand. I am a coach who proved in other countries not to be afraid to select 16 and 17 year old players to make their debut in the national team because on the end when we develop players, it’s to get them to the national team. In my own country Lukaku was 16 years old when he played with the national team. So if you are a talented player, maybe not yet discovered by local teams but you are a good talent, you can also have a chance in the senior national team and I will work very closely with Russell and the other national youth coach (Brian) Williams to help the development of football and to bring young players very close to the national team,” the Belgian-born coach added.

What the hell is this man talking about, as if there isn't enough idiocy going around, what the hell is he talking about?? Oh gosh allyuh give we ah lil break for ah week nah? Is constant, steady BS, constant, constant so...oh God man allyuh have mercy on we nah???

These guys are 25-30 and still not ready for international football. but you really think there are 16 and 17 year olds who are? this is total bs. Agreed with Fyzo its like they think we dumb.

Whats funny is that the MLS guys took some time of from a long season. Yet Jovein was the only one who actually had a long season. Kevan George was excused and his season finished a couple months ago. Guys who were not even in the training squad got selected. Charles got called at the last minute.

We are just not that good. Period

No coach can get Cyrus and David to concentrate. Or to have K george make a proper pass

J. Jones, Bateau, Hyland, Boucad are the only players with quality who can hold their own with anyone.

Levi is still green but will be world class

Lets not kid ourselves. These teams are technically and tactically better and more experienced than us.

KJ tries but playing in the TT pro League does us no favours.

We saw a professional display from CR and thats what we will see from most other teams in the Hex. Game management.

Game was nothing special. vancouver played within themselves because they had a game over the weekend and have on this weekend in the MLS. They played some reserves.

Still the game was there to be won for Central

I disagree with Sam as I thought Dillon should have been switched to cf because of his size. He is still young and can only improve

Paul and garcia are good players, bu very similar. they were no threat because De Silva did not really create anything as the attacking mid. for the most part he looked off the pace.

Ettienne is a wildman. No composure at all.

Chucky had a decent game

As Sam said, central look like they are clueless in the attacking third

Sample is ordinary

Marcus Joseph came on and was by far the worst CFC player. very predictable and lost the ball numerous times.

On another note, Jan is still injured. The sling is off though. But he has not been active for months so Im not sure he will be there September.

« on: June 07, 2016, 04:57:01 AM »
watched the game last night, by the way thank you zeppo for posting it. boy oh boy do these locals need a lot of work. i could say without reservation that foncete is definitely not ready and is not up to international standard, as the saying goes your team is as good as your goaley.

he is barely a conference league goal keeper let alone an international so i suggest that hart throw him back in the oven until he matures and learn his trade in a proper league. the other bloke who played the second half has a little more quality and common sense.

as for our defense, those guys are as intelligent as birds on a high tension wire. they are so easy to unravel and playing against them is like fishing in a barrel. china is not a great team but they are fundamentally sound as they come. they have all the ground work layed out correctly and plays a simple but effective brand. this is the kind of football i wish these boys could play.

i watched guys like jomol williams and winchester and these guys fist touches are atrocious. there is no way on earth that you could be an attacker with such heavy touches. the only player who could get away with that is K.jones and that's because he has other wonderful attributes that make up for his heavy first touch. i can't say how many times i saw balls bouncing off attacking players in attack mode.

but in all the mele i did see a player who possibly could be be a very good attacking addition to the team the # 17 nathan lewis fella. he has tons of speed and and works the passing lanes well. but he needs to travel away from this poor league and find a competitive league and proper coaching, because two weeks under steven hart would not make him a better player.

to sum it up. these players lack what it takes to play international football. just my take ont he whole shabbang.

oh i almost forgot. as much as i like sean de silver the lad can't cut it at this level. just look at his play. he was passing the ball scared and timid and was apprehensive about keeping the ball and going past his markers, his final pass is also very suspect. coach hart you have some very honest sobering decisions to make.

totally agree with you . we are in dire need of a good goalkeeper. Guess we can see how IMPORTANT Jan Williams is in this campaign.

A national league will solve this. There was an article some time before about this.

How difficult is it for us to have zonal u15 and u17 teams with competent coaches in training year round?

Tell sando prince it have a plate of crow waiting for him by Sean Desilva locker .

you must be stupid. He did not do anything to demand a start on the team. Some will even say because we were up 4-0 hence why he came on for Joevin. Watch yuh mouth when demanding spots for yuh favourite players. What did he exactly do? he made a good pass and? several players made good passes. He is a good player but has not done anything to demand a start.
.

Lol the game was done and dusted. SVG were walking. Good pass. But please be real.

Some people here are really funny.

Anyway, congrats. Good 3 pts.

Final ball was a problem sometimes.

Should have been 10 easily. Vincy Heat got put out after 35 mins. They were done.

KJ is not the problem. But is the easiest scapegoat for men who cannot really see any further.

Hyland and Boucad play too deep and do not win any second balls, leaving a very big gap in midfield for the team to advance. Teams also bypass our midfield with 1 pass. That issue needs to be sorted.

We also do not press as a team. mainly because our DM play too deep. if the fwds press, there is a huge gap between the mids to be exploited. This did not happen vs USA. So i kno we can do it. Then again, we had Kevan George as a sheild allowing Boucad to push a bit higher up closer to Hyland.

Williams and Bateu looked good. Aubrey needs to sort it out. Hoyte was solid

Molino will get there

Jovein on the right looks dangerous, but his final ball is sometimes lacking.

Calm down

Marvin was at fault for the goal.  That was a terrible attempt to collect . That guy is slow like molasses.

Cyrus Bateau Marshall David looked very poor in transition to defense. Wingbacks were playing very far up though.

Hoyte had a poor game. Expect much better from him as someone who has played at a very high level

Hyland was missing in defense and caused Boucad to be outnumbered in midfield too many times. Looked to be toasted after 65mins

Boucad had an average game, cant remember him being this bad in a long time.

Jovien drifted in and out the game, need much more from him

Molino, showed some flashes, but is obviously rusty

KJ was poor today. Finishing, was awful, although he did create a couple chances and drew the attention of the 2 CB all day.

Levi looked very promising, and should get the start Tuesday, running at the defence , and his superbly taken 2 goals.

Plaza and Hakshaw did not really have an impact

Overall, happy with the scrappy 3 pts on the horrible surface. The heat may have played a part also.

If Bostock is good to go, Molino ( need to manage him properly) does not start, along with Cyrus. Levi starts on the wing.

93k per month (alleged) and you cant pay players or coaches?

National teams have no money to travel?

Phillip
David
Bateau
Williams
Hoyte
Jones
Boucad
Molino
Hyland
Bostock
K Jones

Tough to get into the defence even with the absence of Bakr and Mitchell. Williams because he is good there also, and David out left.

Bostock because no Cato. Molino starts.

Yea its a good idea to have a local based team...maybe play a few matches against Guyana, St Kitts etc.

Fact is crunch time we call for foreigners. Cummings was a real find, as he showed he absolutely had what it took to be  at that level. If  it weren't for his unfortunate situation he probably would not be local based anymore though.

S. Winchester was not originally in the squad. Hackshaw, Plaza moved overseas. My point being once you are good enough for the national team, you probably will not be locally based for long.

Would love to find out more on this development. If im right I think he was supposed to have 2 more years.

Maybe he decided the time is now, and he wanted to go pro and maybe finish school after.

Asylum, while it may be try no player is equally strong on both feet, I have seen players who would make you believe they are equally adept with both feet. Two that vividly come to mind are Warren Archibald and Leo Brewster. They were left sided forwards who shoot and crossed the ball effortlessly with both feet. They were also excellent dribblers. There are others, that don't come to mind at this moment.

Santi Cazorla

Both Williams and David are right- footed. For that reason you dont see many crosses or too much overlapping from both.

Very Very lucky. Glad he is on the road to recovery as he was playing very well all year. Luck really was on his side.

Its very difficult to hit someone in the leg, intentionally while they are resisting and/or moving....If robbery is the motive, then its understandable, a struggle/scuffle and hit at close range.

But its is very difficult to comprehend how someone would intentionally shoot him in the leg. If it wasn't a robbery then what else could it be? Maybe a falling out of some sorts. Either way thank God he is ok.

This is terrible to even fathom. Get well soon pest

Football / Re: Thread for the T&T vs USA Game (17-Nov-2015)

Somehow Im feeling Hoyte at right Midfield in front of Cyrus at the beginning. It may seem conservative, but we did not get a cross from the right last game in any case. If not, start Cato. He has a point to prove and I think he will do well. Jovien can handle Yedlin. Jermaine Jones is good but not very mobile. So Cummings needs to find space around him.

Bradley is tidy. And has an eye for goal. He needs to be dealt with. Altidore isnt playing very well, but is big and strong and can do damage if given space.

USA will have the ball more than we do. So it all comes down to our organization, and how we deal with set plays, both on offense and defense.

The system will not work properly without KJ. Like it or not. He is the Only player that holds up the ball on the NT well enough to bring the rest into the game.

Why is Sample on our national team? Matter of fact why is he out starting u23 goalie?

Angus on sportsmax moaning about the squad selection.

Says Trevin Ceasar should have been there along with Devon Jorsling.

I will always say. Jorsling will only score against Antigua and the likes. Ceasar or Corbin...Hart picked Corbin.

Foncette was not national quality this season...not even close....3rd choice but Cleon John could challenge Jan for a starting spot.

Paul is bleeder 2.0 De Silva is too light and cant tackle.

Cummings has a left foot but he dont know how to use it. Look at his set pieces and crosses...horrible in the Jordan game.

Squad is not that bad, but should have included Julius

Cyrus should play right back because he does not defend well at cb. should be joined by Bateau, Marshall, Jones.

Khaleem, Boucad, cato , Peltier, Plaza, Jones
