Sam Brian Williams and Clayton never coach the team.

They coach the youth team, I remember that.

Brian Williams was de coach of T&T Under 20 in 2006 with players like Carlyle Mitchell, Radanfah Abu Bakr, Khaleem Hyland, Keon Daniel, Atuallah Guerra, Elton John and Matthew Bartholomew.

Clayton Morris coach T&T Futsal Team and T&T under 20 team in 2002 and he was also head coach for T&T game 3 times I think, just filling in, cant remember when.

Sam you real, real picky.  When they first started the Caribbean cup, TT lost a home game to French Guyana. They hired local coach Jimmy Blanc to coach the side in Cayenne for the return leg. TT won the game and they did not extend Jimmy's tenure for the tournament. So what does that say. Not because you win they will keep you.

I'm just trying to be logical about this Coaches being fired thing,do Coaches get fired because they are no good or they are not right for a particular club/team?the reason i'm asking this question is because i notice Coaches getting fired by one club/country and u see another club/country pick them up.

Coops, that happens in other sports also. In the US the coaches are recycled from team to team, colleges to colleges. Once you get into that fraternity, you network yourself with the powerbrokers to get the next job after you have been "fired".

Man crying for local coaches... What have they ever done that makes you want to have a local coach in charge? Is only friend friend thing they like. I almost forgot, they are shitty ass coaches too. The only good local coaches is two foreign born in Fenwick and Connection coach, can't remember his name right now. The rest is shit!! I wonder if they gave Fenwick the wok, what would be the cry from them...

Ent , cant be because they are good, more likely people afraid of hiring foreigners aka White Man. Backward way of thinking.

Bro, Allyuh have issues with local coaches and allyuh state their short comings. Cool. But this against whitey is real bullshit. Is either allyuh dotish or have identity issues. Go back from 1970, our 2nd participation in the WC and TT had hired Michael Lang from England. Conrad Braithwaithe coached TT to a bronze medal in the Pan Am games in 67. We have hired foreign coaches up we kazoo before and only one has succeeded in breaking the glass celing. All others failed like the local coaches. So where this against whitey bullshit come about.

The local coaches must improve in all departments. Me eh arguing with that. But to say that they wrong in expressing their displeasure for the hiring of a foreign is disengenuous. Them is the one who coaching them youths from standard 1 thru high school. None of them foreign coaches does go thru the bullshit of coaching with old equipment. Yutes without gears. Yutes hungry and malnourish. Local coaches does have to take money out of their own pockets to takes the yutes accross TT to tournaments. Then the TTFF will find money for the foreign coach. On top of that, they will get all the amenities for the foreign coach. Some players use to rebel because they don't have bottled water for players in training.

Me eh have issues with the set up with hiring Beenhaker. This a stop gap measure for this tournament. After the GC, I want to see TTFA plan for local football. Youth football and club football. He and Dexter have to work out something for the improvemt of the league. Dexter's league needs to do something different. I don't know what! But something different has to be done.

What makes him a traitor? And the revelations on the details of Washington's spying in China makes their cries against the Chinese's hacks resoundingly hollow.

Spy vs Spy. How the Russians got info on how to make nuclear bombs? China does spy on everybody. Us does spy on everybody. Russia does spy on everybody. India, Pakistan same game. Oh, MI5 is just a tv show. British Intelligence and Scotland Yard main job is spying. Get the info by all means necessary.

Cale used to play their home games on George's grounds back in the day, but that isn't exactly a stadium, just grounds with some bleachers.  Growing up was fun, walk a few blocks to take in Cale and a few more to take in BBP  :beermug:

Where is George's grounds. It that the Barataria oval?

I eh no apologist for the US govt. They have been spying on people, foreign and domestic, for years. And all American know that. All those who profess that they did not know taht the gov't has data on them are a bunch of  fakes. They know that damn well.  If the data was on Black Panther, Move, Acorn, NAACP, Unions, ACLU they would not be saying one shit. This is the reality of security and intelligence. With globalization and the ease of communication, the government has to to mine data. Because there is so much.

Unfortunately, this man falls in the traitor category

Last year, the Champions League games hosted in Trinidad were poorly attended and Shabazz feels that CONCACAF should initiate a public awareness plan to better highlight the importance of the CCL to the teams and its supporters particularly from the Caribbean.

No, No! Jamal. That is your club, your sponsor and the pro-league job. Is your home game. How long you in this football business. You should have the whole of Laventille, Morvant, Barataria are your disposal. There is no Jabloteh anymore. Try and get some Croisee fans.
I agree with you to a certain extent but this is a team from T&T and i think the whole Football fraternity should be behind them, from the time a team from any where in the country representing us the game changes,i'm surprised i don't hear the TTFA involved more in this, these are some of the reasons why Football is so messed up in the country because everybody on their own and seeing about themselves,it's always about i and me but where is the us?no wonder it was not well supported when it was hosted in T&T,could u imagine that happening in the other countries.

Coops, Blessings, Blessings. Coops, as much as TTFA running the football, clubs should not depend on them to do everything.  Jamal organization should be "littering" there area with flyers to come down in HCS for the game. Then they should get their spnsors the buy air time to advertise the game on TV, radio, newspapers and twitter and face book.

The days for people to just show up just  for footie are long gone. Football aficionados, potential fans and the wagonists, have all lost the passion and respect for the local game, except small goal. We have to rebuild the passion and earn the respect. The proleague and their sponsors, the club and their sponsors should be spear-heading these types of endeavours. There is no other way forward. The football fraternity must be a self-help entity.

It is a pity Cale don't have their own grounds somewhere closer to Morvant, Laventille, Barataria area

Farc is a double edge sword. When these guerillas group started out in the 60s, they were formed to fight for the underclass. But after 40 yrs they became heavy handed dictators themselves and work hand in hand with the murderous narcos to run their drug business. Sorry, they can't sway me with  their"rap".

Beenhakker will be very upset to know that Shabazz and Charles left out possibly 3 top players Cato, Peltier and Julius. 3 players who could start on the current team.

Local coaches to bad mind and they quick to condemn players and fail to realise that they position to is not to be taken for granted.

Were these players available, injured or otherwise.

You guys need to let go of this "white devil" mentality. Not every white person is out to exploit us. This has always been about the football alone.

Bro, who talking about white devil mentality. Plenty men on the forum don't want Beenie for various reasons. Some people think we should move on. They are not totally oppose to a foreign coach. Some don't want him because of the Latapy "snub" in the WC. Some don't  want a foreign coach period. They think that the TTFA should promote the local coaches. Where the white devil mentality come into play.

hard truth is that our product on the field is shit! unless you looking to boost morale of your team (by advantaging ah small side) there is no real reason for any 'better' team to play us. we are no longer kings of the caribbean.

I don't want to characterize our play in such hash terms. Our players have no confidence when they play for the national team. There is no chemistry among the players. 5 days to to coach and mole a team for international duty is not enough. The Euro season is done. The national team should be back home training and looking for practice game. Seeing that no one wants to play us, ask Ven, Col,Ecuador. Their B team would be good at this time for us. Better than nothing. We can even ask the Brazil and Aegentina to send their B squad. They will be more than a handful for our current team.

I saw the 2nd half agaisnt Estonia and he played decent. Mine you, Estonia is not a strong team.He read the game pretty good and came up in attack quite often. But speed is issue. Stronger teams will run thru our defence like basket holding water.

Even before Arthur Suite and Jack, foreign teams, mainly English would visit TT. I remember listening to Coventry/TT in the late 60s. I heard some other Brizilian teams visted in the 60s. I was to young then. I  Saw Chelsea, Southhampton, Nautico, St.Mirren, Hull city. Chelsea, Southhampton and especially Nautico were over 15,000. St.Mirren and Hull were about 10,000. - 12,000. In them days TTFA, QPO and sponsors would share the money. I don't know or think the players got anything(bun and sweet drinks probably). Maybe they use to get money under the table. I don't know. But I doubt it.

After, I left in 77, Jack took over and things went north, south, uphill, downhill. I also remembered quite distinctly going to the Oval for Olimpic(not WC) qualifying games angainst Suriname and B'dos with crowds over 10,000. One of those was close to 15000. So tell Jack Warner he has no monopoly on bringing big sides to TT. That was a normal thing before he took over. He just hijack(no pun intended) the systems and screwed it up.

Also don't forget the Santos 1972 fiasco.

Bro, new clothes gives you emotional inspiration. It makes you dribble and beatz ah man and score goals. :D

Socapro, I think you bordering on treason.  :D. But really and truly, Farakhan make a lot of sense in most of his speeches, not all. I do listen to him quite often. And I am a Catalic.

I trying to be open minded here. If TTFA can hire Beenie, then money is no problem. This guy don't come cheap. The "rich" benefactors who forking out the money for Beenie, should really be forking out money for developmental(grassroots) football. A national academy in central will be good for starters.

Football / Re: Where have TT dribblers gone?
« on: June 11, 2013, 12:58:20 PM »
As far back as I can remember T&T Football always had good dribblers:

Watching the last two games, it is evident that this art seems to be dead in our
football. Or at least in the present selection.

Even watching a few pro league games and Intercol, it is rear to see some classic dribbling.

Where have the Deleon's, Gally's, Mitchell's, Llewlyn's, Neptune's, Clauzel's, Latapy's gone.

Dont forget, Archibald, Peter Mitchell, Sammy Lewellyn, Ron La.
