Hey everyone,

In addition to Ryan Inniss, are there any players who are unable to represent this country due to our second generation parent rule?  Is there a list?

Good news for the Garcia camp as sources have indicated to us that 20-year old Judah Garcia has gotten intense interests from four top clubs in the world. After the former Shiva Boys’ star’s contract ended with Indian Club Neroca Fc on April 1st, the likes of top flight Portuguese clubs Benfica and Sporting along with two of the Greek giants - Olympiacos and AEK Athens - are all in talks/negotiations for the midfielder.

Garcia’s older brother, Levi, also plays for AEK Athens and the next coming days/weeks will be interested to see how this development plays out.

so we suspended big deal. we was suspended since DJW won the election in 2016, we didn't win a game since they beat america in that FLUKE GAME in 2017, after that they went on to lose game after game beating only the lowest ranking team in the world anguilla.

in trinidad thing have to get worst before it gets better, i don't care who's the ttfa president either, as long as it's not shrek or sancho. soceion i'm borrowing the shrek from you, hope you don't mind.

maybe we would have a bit of peace now, instead of worrying about these cruddy footballers we have.

So we suspended big deal????

Really?? FIFA owns football full stop!  This is the darkest day in TT football history.

I am not a fan of Denis Lawrence as Head coach.  I think he should have stepped down by now.

I was not in support of the firing of Stephen Hart from his role at the helm of our mens national team

I believe that we have gone backwards in leaps and bounds as a footballing entity during the DJW regime.

Now that i have made those statements clear, I want to ask if anyone has been paying attention to Hart's record as coach of HFX.  Some of us are clamoring for his return, but on the basis of results, his team in the CPL is on a run of 1 win in 17 games and is currently at the bottom of the league.
before he got fired he was on an 8-0 run and I don’t mean 8 wins. By the way, weren’t you one of DJW ardent supporters, are you having 2nd and 3rd thoughts, or did you and the fat boss had a falling out?

How am I being referred to as an ardent DJW supporter?  The only person who thinks i am a DJW supporter is Gino, and that is simply because i disagreed with his many conspiracy theories.  A few years ago after his election win, i simply said to give DJW a chance to see what he has to offer based on the fact that W Connection was one of the better run clubs in the country.  In fact, during the lead up to the election, his manifesto was the strongest.

He came into office and he got an F as far as i am concerned.

You definitely argued in favour of him and was so called working with Djw from my sources... what conspiracy theories? Everything I’ve said has come to pass, now you coming on to discredit Hart and absolve yourself? You serious brother?  Worse yet, you’re calling my name when many others also said you were riding for the dictator.. trust me not everyone is as vocal as I am and speaks out on the board that called you

Why should we give a thief and a sell out a chance? Not my fault you couldn’t see him for what he was, that’s your lack of intuition and insight and has nothing to do with my predictions that came thru..

By the way, some people talking about those 6 losses by SH, under what type of environment did that happen? Let’s see who remembers what was going on at that time that contributed to those losses and not bc of Hart’s coaching...

Furthermore you calling out his record with Halifax, it’s the first year, with players who have never played together, there’s something called growing pains and adjustment that I’m sure will see him do well next season once everyone becomes accustomed..

Funny for a man who says he wasn’t against Hart, you seem to be speaking out of both sides of your mouth  :D

Football / Nation League Question
« on: October 09, 2019, 12:15:59 PM »
Hi everyone,

Just a quick question regarding the Nations League qualification process.

Since we drew both games and are on 2pts with Martinique, what will be the deciding factor for 2nd place (and Gold Cup qualification) if Honduras beats both Trinidad and Martinique in both games.  Will it be goal difference or head to head?

If it is head to head, then i would assume that Martinique is ahead of us by virtue of the away goals.

Mods: Feel free to merge after the question is answered

Marvin Phillip is the last player you should be casting any blame on in the TT squad.  He has easily been one of our best and consistent performers for the past 5-7 games.

Why oh why we cannot get a coach from Europe,Africa or South America,we just don't have locals capable enough.

I actually think that Denis CV is better than most of the coaches that we can afford.

nb: THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT I WANT HIM TO STAY IN THE ROLE

Tallest, we could win 4 out of the next 6 games and win the CONCACAF Nations League and Denis overall record will still be poor.  So i am not into his record.  I already stated that he should have been removed from this role.

However, whether his record poor or not, a point on the road vs Martinique isnt a bad result.  That is simply my point.

Football / Re: Thread for T&T vs Martinique Games (6 & 9-Sept-2019)

Our football has become so pathetic that the captain says " They had a plan not to lose the game " and the coach is congratulating the boys for their performance. Is this the mindset that Lawrence has put in place ?  We not even playing a powerhouse it's Martinique who just out played us and we hoping for a draw..look at the stats...SMDH
:banginghead:
Match Stats
MTQ    TRI
Possession
56%   44%
Shots (on Goal)
21 (6)      7 (5)
18   Fouls   12
1   Yellow Cards   2
0   Red Cards   0
3   Offsides   4
9   Corner Kicks   3
4   Saves   5

Damned if you do and damned if you dont.  While i respect the view of all of the posters, I constantly see overwhelming negativity in here.  Our football is in a sad state, but this is a good result on the road given our form of late.

Let's see how Monday goes.  They get a pass in this game, since a point away is a decent start, but anything other that a victory on Monday would make this result useless.

I see tonnes of complained in here, lol.

Imagine a man start to bad talk our best player at the Gold Cup and he was blamed for the goal, lol.

I believe that DL is NOT the man for the job, but honestly, the negativity in here is overwhelming.  We got a point on the road!

ah love it!!

Why hasn't our squad been officially released as yet? This is crazy!! It basically four days before the first game vs Martinique.

20

Most interested in the times that will be run by our sprinters in the finals. Its good to win but how fast you running at this stage in the season can indicate how much more work you need to put in before the world championships

Well i hope our timing system is working well.

Imagine DL left 25 year old Ranjitsingh on the bench for 30 year old donkey Foncette. Imagine dat!! SMFH

What is the basis of this statement?

I had hoped that Dennis would have used this opportunity to cap Glen, but saying that Foncette is a donkey is indicative of the mindset of some people.

If Joevin in puts his mind to it, nothing but a tractor would stop him from getting crosses in from the right, regardless of his dominant foot.

pull stones, I disagree with you on Dwight. Dwight did quite well and succeeded. Could have lasted longer at ManU? Maybe. But Dwight did it all.
deeks Dwight did it on raw talent and his love for the game but if Dwight had actually put his shoulders to the wheel and put the boozing the partying and the fraternizing behind him and seriously worked on his craft that boy would have been the absolute king of the hill, that dude had it all and I mean all that it takes to be the best baller ever, that is why sir Alex was sore at him because he saw the potential in Dwight to be the best ever.

Ask Floyd mayweather what was the secret to his success and he will be sure to let you know that it was dedication to his craft and less bullshiting with his mates, in fact ask any great athlete Micheal jordon -Lionel Messi - christiano ronaldo- usain bolt- those lads put in the over time mate, it’s not guess work it’s actual science.

Stern and Latapy also had what it took to have a very long and successful careers in the sport, do you know how hard it is to score 69 international goals? That’s a mega achievement in case you didn’t know. if stern was actually dedicated to his craft people would still be talking about him instead of phenomeno. our boys survive only on raw talent and it’s time they learn to put in the extra work that would afford them better ball control concentration and foot to eye coordination which only comes with constant practice.

I disagree. Dwight did put in the hard work. I remember reading an article after a GC win, while the team was celebrating downstairs Yorke was absent. The reporter went to his room only to realise Dwight was working out in his room before coming down to celebrate.

There were other instances right in Tobago while on vacation Dwight would be seen training early in the morning. So to say Dwight wasnt king of the hill because of a lack of dedication to craft is an extreme exaggeration in my opinion.

Alex may not have approved of the lifestyle Yorke was pushing off the field and used that against him, but Yorke has always been dedicated to his craft. Look at the time at Sunderland ....Yorke at 35 was rated the fittest player at the club.

 :beermug:
i was in England when Dwight was at villa and man unitied and it’s common knowledge that Dwight loved the night life and did a whole lot of partying, the reason why it didn’t affect him as much was because he’s a freak of nature with great genes who’s happens to be super gifted, and with the necessary work required he would have been a monster.

he was the only player in our country’s history to go straight to top flight English football at such a tender age bypassing the lower leagues entirely. there’s no mystery that man was super talented and had all the goods to be the next pele had he put in the work, and no he did not put in the work.

It is laughable that you actually think that Dwight Yorke didnt put in the work.  Many people associated with the clubs that Dwight played for are synchronized in voice when it comes to the amount of work that he puts in.

I understand your point about the need for hard work, but Dwight isnt a good example.  Maybe if you had used Arnold Dwarika, your point would have been better received since i think it is a good point, but even to this day, Dwight still puts in the work and his fitness is never taken for granted.

ah love it!!

Unsuccessful;

(google translate of important bit;)

"While the search for a new center-back continues, Alvin Jones, who has been tested in the training camp in Spain, is not required. The 24-year-old right-back, brother of Joevin Jones, could not completely convince coach Dirk Schuster and returns to Trinidad and Tobago, according to the Darmstadt Echo."
