asylumseeker: Thanks for that nice bit of history,I would like to see them in the not too distant future in the Africa Nations Cup,seems like they would catch up fast, remember they have players in Europe although their football was so disjointed. When they have things sorted we could be hearing more about them, thanks again mate.

Deft left foot.  :applause: And awareness!

(A Saudi club shouldn't be losing to a Mauritanian club).
You never know how good African clubs are,Muratania boarders Senega,Mali and Algeria and as we know these countries have produced brilliant footballers in the past and still do.They were colonised by the French with french as their main language, the country is a mix of Africans ,Arabs and Berbers a mixture of both.I would not be surprised if they beat a Saudi club, they must be just as football mad as the rest of Africa.

I was checking their players and they have more players in Europe than we have,Turkey,Spain and Greece to mention some, and not in low divisions too.Their best FIFA ranking was 85 in 1994...present 101.

I didn't see that coming, who did.We eventually lost the third test very badly and I feel if it was a five test series we would have lost.England thought the just had to go through the motions, how many times we hear and see how big boys fall flat on their arses with that attitude.I hope that series win has put something into our belief that we could be back in the top 3.

I am sure that the least amount of Caribbean people in the UK are Trinis, that has been the case for many years,at school in London I didn't know one Trini kid,boy or girl.We were the Saudis of the Caribbean at one time and our people didn't have to leave because of economic reasons,I'm sure everyone knows that.I also believe that men are the head of households in Trinidad and they wouldn't want to leave Trinidad because of dem nice attractive women of all different colours and races. ;)

Football / Indian Football.

I was just reading that with the addition of 48 teams for the FIFA WC 2026 that India may qualify, but it's not just because more teams are involved that India may just make it.Seems like their football is improving steadily and to prove the point they recently won the Intercontinental Cup,teams involved were India,New Zealand,Kenya and Chinese Taipei, nobody would have expected that, not us Trinis anyway,I make that judgement by some posts I read here about Indian football.A point I would like to make is the following of football in TT as compared to India...Stadiums in India are almost filled, and support for football is growing steadily. With that sort of enthusiasm,Indian football could equal or even surpass cricket, one billion people, who knows what India can unearth in the next 10 years, our footballers can now feel it's worth it to take contracts with Indian teams in years ahead,BTW their last FIFA Standing was 97 another big surprise.
Well done India!
We have more talent than India but we are stagnant, always having problems with money, players or management, always owing money to coaches or players,we are best at organising chaos.

I don't understand why somebody who has a son with a European passport move to the  U S A if he wants his son to develop into a football player.
It's easier to make the USA team.

Highlights look like goal-scoring practice for Iran. Can they defend ? In most cases, I see we give them the ball and shots. Must have been an arrangement.  :D
I thought so myself,Iran is a better team,we know that, but you said it mate. They don't even close down man with ball.

My honest hope is to see Kerron Cummins play football for TT again, what a bloody sad story.Imagine what was in store for him,who knows how far he could have gone. The man that shot him should be fed to Hyenas.

I am never surprised when we lose,I am usually very surprised when we win but my elation is short lived because we go on to lose the next match. What a life I live as a sports fanatic, the worst part is,I still support TT in all sports.I may come back in another life as a Jamaica,i'll be a happier sports fan,I may even be a brilliant sportsman.

You can't help but notice the amount of footballers on the England team of Afro Caribbean Heritage. It is hard to understand why countries like Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago especially, cannot produce players with quality to even get them at clubs abroad.Shouldn't countries like the 2 I've pointed out be producing top class young men to take their football to a very high level, look at where England sits today, and there's about 8 players with Afro Caribbean heritage.Spend some money on the yutes man,get some good bloody coaches.

When I look at so many of our players, so many look like they got some Indo blood in them, and when I see so many Indian they look more Afro than Indo.I will be surprised if race comes into selecting our team.In another 25 years there'll be so many more Douglaz nobody will need to complain.I hope you people especially Indos and Afros keep the mixture going so in years to come race wont matter.
Tell Sat I say so!

Just the result we didn't want, but we were the worst team in the Hex and deserves our position of last,DL can start building for the Caribbean Cup and the GC with a team of local players.  :(

Football / Re: Thread for the T&T vs Honduras Game (1-Sept-2017)
« on: September 02, 2017, 03:32:05 AM »
I am sure that blame should go to the players and nobody else, first the GK needs to be replaced for standing well out of position ball watching,it's not the first time he has given the opposition goals. We should at least come away with a draw and a win wasn't out of the question;we as usual, didn't take some clear cut chances.I know Hon had chances but we appeared to have had more clear cut chances. This may sound a bit corny, but TT seems to be an unlucky team.

Bateau coming in Wednesday for the game on Friday? Sighs.....

That is one full session before the game for our best defender, what is the likelihood of him starting that Honduras game, 2 days of travel with all that jet lag.

This is where the FA need to play a lil more hardball via FIFA with those clubs, considering his travel he should have been released earlier than Sunday.
Small country aint got no clout and will always suffer the indignities of being brushed away for the sake of a club.Because of us always suffering and having to beg for our best players, I feel we have to start showing some more respect to local, give them as much opportunities as possible. When foreign cyah come we should have replacements that is aware and not a novice.

DL is doing the right thing, we have had overseas players come back over and over and they have done very little, I feel the local boys will put up a fiercer fight, if only to prove they are as good or better than the foreign based. It is also time to build a team of home based players, how many times we are unable to secure foreign based, forget them, sometimes you get the feeling they don't give ah shit bout TT, let them stay where they feel better.

We lost but we looked really good, and of course the missed chances, hopefully the big boys will go one better.

Now if TT can take a leaf outta Jamaica book, improve the defence and play with heart and soul like Jamaica,we may still  have a chance of qualifying, but we must think like the Jamaicans. So far we have matched Mex, CR, Hon and the US but lost,we also should have had a draw against Mexico, but a good goal was ruled off side.So a lil more blood and sweat and good defending, we have good midfield and the front men are good enough.

continue posting when you drunk  :D

Sando prince,we are having a discussion, this is what we do on this MB,you don't have to agree, but if you say something, please back up with facts.I am not trying to force anything down your throat, sorry mate you got that wrong. You said both Jamaica and TT are shit, you got that half right,I forgive you,we all make mistakes. :)

Man chattin about Caribbean, oh yeah so when last you support Cuba or Haiti or Anguilla in anything? iz friggin licks for yard today  :D
I understand how yuh feel about our inability to get to the Caribbean Cup and the GC as such, but we must be objective.Jamaica is better than us at the moment, and is a better defensive team, they can defend,it will take a few more years to teach TT about defending.I support all Caribbean teams, when we play anybody I support us(TT),but I am an objective person, and although it's hard to swallow,Jamaica is a far more organized team than us.

The only time i hate Jamaica is when they beat us,but by them doing so well it will resonate all around the footballing world, that will also be good for the whole Caribbean.I just don't know what kind ah football we does play,we had all the chance to be in the GC,but as usual we piss our chances away.Bravo Jamaica!

I have to agree with pull stones, and ask the same question, what purpose does this friendly serve,if we are hoping to use 7 or 8 players from this squad then OK,but how many will play, maybe 2 or 3 if they lucky.

Allyuh might have heard of the Arab Spring. Well demographers predicted that unrest about 10 years before it kicked off. Available jobs vs. Unemployed young males.
The Arab Spring was engineered by the US with the help of some Western governments.

Mr.Hinds you are an idiot to talk that kind ah shit, are you justifying the crime situation with your foolish comparison of crime  20 years ago,,please do better than that.I don't live in TT so I am safer than most Trinis,I feel sorry for my people and wonder when our governments will bring crime under control,it's as if they(the Govt)thinks it's not that important, after all its mostly Laventillians killing each other, but with the new Government it has spread to other parts with speed. As far as I'm concerned, crime should be first and last on the government agenda, from what I read and hear from family and friends,it's like living in a prison.I also hear some rubbish about Honduras and other places where crime is out of control,so that basically means,we must follow and have a high crime rate, what bullshit. When a country's population is suffering and so badly hurt because of a murderous minority, the government in power takes the blame,we have one of the most mixed population in the world, and have lived in harmony with each other, why should a savage minority have us "quaking in our boots",before I close let me say,Mr.Hinds, you are a "pothong".

Deeks                  I left TT at an early age but up to when I left in 68 we had played many teams,my father took me to games from the age of 10 and up to 68 we never touched even the idea of playing them.I lived very near Skinner Park and many Venezuelians used to play impromtu football matches in the park, people used to laugh at how they played,I did too.I was basing my argument on what I saw,I also had many relatives in Venezuela,Caracas, whenever we visited I would ask about football, and they would laugh,we play baseball no football, maybe that gave me the wrong impression.I always respect what some of you blokes say,and I am now very, very surprised that you say,you have always thought that Venezuela was better than us,in your opinion,i'll accept that you obviously know more than me,and swallow it like a bitter pill,I am pleased to be put right.RESPECT

Venezuela, yes folks Venezuela our closest neighbours of just a few miles away. They played baseball, that was their game, and Trinidad and Jamaica wouldn't have given them a second glance as far as football is concerned back in the 60s.Just think or try to work out,why did our football regress to the bottom rung of the ladder,we are going nowhere, one can only assume that the people in charge, don't have a bloody clue,a bunch of dunces and posers.Who would have even mentioned Venezuela getting into an Under 20 WC final 20 years ago,my guess...no one.Big country mentality at work, small island mentality will keep the population down until we change our character.
