Molino is a primadonna.

In truth, when John-Williams was elected president in November 2015, he met a body that was:

(Finances) $16 million in debt;

(Men’s) Ranked 49th in the world and successive Gold Cup quarterfinalists;

(Women’s) Missed the 2014 Women World Cup by the slenderest margin after a 1-0 two-legged aggregate loss to Ecuador in a Fifa Play Off.

At the time that Infantino lavished praise on DJW, the TTFA was:

(Finances) TT$50 million in debt;

(Men’s) Ranked 104th in the world and had just set all-time records for longest losing streak, win-less streak and run of games without scoring;

(Women’s) Failed to even qualify for Concacaf round of the 2020 Olympic qualifying series, after being embarrassed 4-1 at home to St Kitts and Nevis.

The TTFA’s membership was not swayed by Infantino’s praise and, in front of Fifa and Concacaf observers, voted 26-20 to replace John-Williams with Wallace.

On Wallace’s first working day, the Home of Football was declared closed, since it lacked proper insurance and clearances and was deemed unsafe for use.

Further, TTFA general secretary Ramesh Ramdhan said the local football body planned to investigate spending at the Fifa project—which had at least TT$16 million unaccounted for—and would publicise its findings, even if Fifa officials like Mosengo-Omba were named.

How, then, could Infantino sit dispassionately in judgment of Wallace’s administration?

Very interesting !!!!

Lasana is a boss writer.

Good job.

FIFA makes money through the sale of television, marketing, and licensing rights for football events like the World Cup. Infrastructure costs for World Cup events are left up to host countries, keeping FIFA's expenses low. In 2018, FIFA generated more than $4.6 billion in revenue.

Controversial was point on, but FIFA not paying the coaches of Lawrence and his agent taking the FA to court.

5
to organise and to conduct elections of a new TTFA Executive Committee for a four-year mandate.

 ??? ??? ::)

What that means?

They going and have re elections?

So Wallace gone?

I hope not.

DJW send up T&T debts by 34 million after he took over from Tim Kee, I hope this guy don't run for elections again.

At least it seems Wallace is more reasonable than DJW and he listens, he is more open with the public and fans, he should try and work with SWO to build a fan support.

Gad for him, good deal with the shirt. Good positive stuff.

I like this one.

Didn't he say he isn't interested in playing for T&T

He said Canada was his first choice, which is fine. But until/unless he is capped in a competitive match by Canada, he is still eligible to play for us, so we should still keep tabs on him. People does say dey eh interested until dey become interested.

There is a good and bad in this, however, I think T&T needs to stop settling for 2nds.!!

The end of Cummings T&T career was the end of T&T football.

That was the turning point.

We need special players on this current team.

Football / Re: Thread for the T&T vs Wales Game (20-Mar-2019)
« on: March 20, 2019, 04:00:03 PM »
Tails of two half.

T&T couldn't get 3 passes together in the 2nd half.

And they had no idea going forward, Kenwyne Jones should have never retired, we don't have a strong or true center forward and Lawrence is to stubborn (like Maurizio Sarri) to call up some decent forward we have scattered over North America and even Europe.

Ben Woodburn for Wales is a top player. Ryan Hedges is a wild man and should have gotten a red card.

T&T did well for a team that most members are not regulars or consistently active for their clubs.

Peltier and Cato added nothing to the team when they came on. Cato was the reason Wales scored, he did not clear the initial ball.

Lawrence, took off Plaza and put Peltier to play striker was depressing. Peltier is a wingman and I like him there.

Hyland showed some good skills, beating 3 man and made a splitting pass that T&T could have break and scored, best play of the game, Hyland showed maturity and have to be the smartest player on the team.

Anyway we could recall Keon Daniel? We need some spark in midfield. Some brian.

I like Lawrence and I give him respect for doing the best he can at his disposal, however, he need to stop playing to pragmatic for long periods hence we played with 3 defence minded players the entire game even when subs were made, Hackshaw, Paul, Hyland, George. Is like playing with 7 defenders.

We played not to concede or get embarrassed.

Wales was nothing spectacular, they would have been beaten by a fit T&T side.

I hope the TTFA get many more games for T&T before the Gold Cup, definitely some good signs but Lawrence need a few more attacking players and maybe some help on the bench from a good attack minded coach.

Wales is the superior team so far but not by much.

T&T look very good as well expect for the final third of the game, mid in fwd.

For a team of inactive players at club level, T&T don't look to bad, hopefully they don't fall apart in the second half when the gas run out.

Cyrus, David, Nathan and Bateau are having good games.

Kevon George got a yellow in min 41st.

No creativity in T&T midfield with Paul, Hyland and George as mostly defensive minded players.

The long balls is not working for T&T because the transition from midfield to forward is to slow.

Plaza look more mobile than before, but to many miscommunication between zones.

Peltier needs to be on and push Levi as a false 9 with Plaza.

No Ramsey and Bale.

Levi is a raw talent who can be a big player or a good player who cannot produce the final touch.

Overall, Lawrence is doing a good job with the little he have at his disposal.

Stern John as well.

FC Cincinnati to make announcement next week amid MLS expansion race.
ESPN

FC Cincinnati on Tuesday will make a "significant announcement" as the club inches closer to becoming the next expansion team in Major League Soccer.

A club release about an event next week did not go so far to confirm its purpose, but the announcement is widely expected to be the formal confirmation that FC Cincinnati has won the expansion slot to become MLS' 26th team. MLS did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

MLS commissioner Don Garber and Cincinnati mayor John Cranley will be in attendance at the announcement at Rhinegeist Brewery beginning at 5:30 p.m., with a news conference to follow.

The league, which is looking to add four teams in two rounds of expansion, invited 12 cities to submit bids over a year ago. Nashville won the first slot in December, leaving Cincinnati, Detroit and Sacramento as finalists to vie for the other spot in the initial wave.

In January, MLS also formally awarded a long-expected expansion team to David Beckham's group in Miami in a separate process. Nashville and Miami both used similar language to Cincinnati's "significant announcement" ahead of their respective expansion confirmations.

Sports Illustrated reported that FC Cincinnati would start playing in MLS next season at its current USL home -- the University of Cincinnati's Nippert Stadium -- which would put it into the league before both Nashville and Miami, which are aiming for 2020 starts. Such a plan would once again give MLS an even number of teams, assuring that all clubs could play every weekend.

The club made major strides toward constructing a new stadium in recent months, winning approval from the Cincinnati City Council to cover $34.8 million in infrastructure costs for the team's otherwise privately financed 21,000-seat, $212.5 million venue in the West End neighborhood.

FC Cincinnati has been a major success story since joining the USL in 2016, averaging over 21,000 fans in 16 home games last season, and beating two MLS clubs in the U.S. Open Cup in front of more than 30,000 fans.

On April 7, the club set a USL record with 25,667 fans for its home opener against defending champion Louisville City. It has averaged just under 24,000 fans in its other three home league games this season.

The Sacramento Republic, a fellow USL club and expansion hopeful, appeared to accept that Cincinnati's bid was completed but vowed to keep pursuing its own slot.

"We remain laser-focused on our objective of bringing MLS to Sacramento and the news today does not deter our efforts nor does it hurt our chances of reaching our goal. Our bid to join MLS is alive and well," the club said in a statement.

North East will need depth and money to get to the CCL.

This is how Trini coaches coach for ages...

The Soca Warriors had 32 percent of the ball in Friday's 3-1 loss at Mexico. They completed a decent-enough 69 percent of them, but that number cratered to below 30 percent in the attacking third, and zero percent on crosses. More than 25 percent of their passes were long-balls.
