Football / how long
« on: July 30, 2021, 02:27:37 AM »
how long is CFU willing to put up with this charade call concacaf?i believe since in the day of jack warner's leadreship CFU should have been it's own confederation, just look at comebol, they have ten teams and are their own confederation while CFU stand 35 strong and we are still joined to the hip of central and north america and i believe that this is wrong. the rational thing should have been that the americas compete against each other in a confederation of the americas and leave CFU on their own.

take the gold cup for instance, every time it is held on U.S. soil for the past 25 years, the only other time they held it else where was in 2019 where a few group stage matches were held in costa rica, but it's has been forever since this tournament is held in the united states and they benefited tremendously by this move because they have won the darn thing half the time they hosted it, how on earth could this be fair?

it's almost astonishing to think that we caribbean people who love to boast of our proactive culture allowed the united states to dictate to us where the gold cup should be held every time it rolls around, i want to see if these blasted monkeys in football who's always talking out their assholes would for once stand up for principle and demand that the next gold cup be held in the caribbean, damit we have 35 flooking votes but we act like we only have seven like central america.

you know Wim was right about us, we only good for one thing, and that's our own selfish needs. sit under a bloody tree and wine to soca and drink rum and coconut water, that's all we're good for. i'm sure all the strong caribbean leaders like norman manley, grantly adam, dr williams and errol barrow must be turning over at the way how the caribbean spirit was subdued by western greed. we started off as a resilient people and weaned into a lazy bunch of self serving parasites.

as for the USA and mexico, they will continue to win this thing till thy kingdom come because there are no federations in concacaf with the guts to stand up and say no more, and mexico won't because it benefits them just as much because they have a sizable population in the united states plus they are just next door and their fans travel far and wide to see them play, which gives both nations a home field advantage. i just can't believe that no one ever raised this concern, i'm stunned.

Football / mad people.
« on: June 06, 2021, 10:00:11 AM »
yes i could be annoying at times and quite frequently people often refuse to engage me usually, i will admit to that, but i was wondering if we could have a dialogue to help clear up some of our concerns. i've noticed that every time we lose a game people come on and act so very surprised and bewildered like we're never supposed to lose or have a poor showing, but when we win people are overjoyed and start picking apart our performance praising some and damning others, but did we ever stop to think that nothing has changed win lose or draw and we are in just as bad a position as years gone by and are in no position to demand better?

people we have done nothing for football since we played the united states in november 1989, in fact we had a semi pro league back then that was attracting far more spectators than we do now in this farce of a professional league.

our football regional presidents from the north, south, and central including the club owners were all in jack warners pockets voting his yes men back in power every election, yet this maniac was the VP of fifa and did nothing to advance football one inch in his own country or his region for that matter.

this man stood in fifa for two decades and did nothing of serious consequence, he build no community grounds, he couldn't get the pro league owners to collaborate with the federation by unifying the leagues creating a promotion and relegation system, they failed to bring private corporations on board and created no fiscal initiatives to make the federation financially independent.

for many years our youth football developmental system was the SSFL and still is, a part time mamaguye two month league with no serious training or level of coaching to speak of, and it shows in the performance of the players where they have failed continually to get past regional youth teams year after year, and this has been going on for the last 25 years and no one ever stopped to think that we have to change this system? this is outrageous, talk about the blind leading the dead.

so really people, when we draw with peurto rico and the bahamas why then are we surprised? it's true fenwick just might be a fraud who was exposed last night, but this is far beyond the reaches of terry fenwick, did we fear better under dennis lawrence or even steven hart?

i remembered the last world cup qualifiers in st vincent where the host team went up on us twice and levi came in and scored a brace to save face. in 2012 caribbean cup in antigua haiti had to save us by beating antigua barbuda for us to qualify for the gold cup, that after missing out on two consecutive tournaments after being knocked out by grenada twice, so where is all this fussing and cussing coming from now when we should have been fussing then?

isn't it strange that we have no more players in the english lower leagues? we haven't won a caribbean tournament in the last 20 years, and we struggle to make the gold cup every time it rolls around, think people think.

jovin jones one of our best players struggles to score sitters throughout this whole tournament even missing an open net last night, and now we are in awe of drawing to the bahamas who literally parked the bus if i've ever seen such a situation?and it was glaringly obvious that they did park the bus, yet people claim that we could have worked around that, ok that might be true, but only with players who have quality, and the bottom line is that we are not a quality team, in fact our players are shit........and you want to know why? because we have no football infrastructure on the both islands to speak of, and other regional nations have figured us out.

i conclude by saying that you all would be revisiting this quarrelsome situation for the next 20 years if these numb skull monkeys in charge of football don't get off their fat complaisant asses, roll up their sleeves and do something substantial for football, and lets start by voting in a worth while federation, get funding for football from corporate sponsorship, make this semi pro league a real professional league by brining in foreign experts from europe as consultants just like benhakker, wim and fister suggested.

the government should get busy building football training schools in every region of the country for instance north, central, south, west and east. bring in coaching staff from europe and give them contracts, and only employ local coaches who have all their euafa badges, no more nepotism we moving forward, and until that happens i will not come here expecting much, the reality is our players are of poor quality and as of recently, it is quite obvious. the emperor is naked people the boss's private parts are showing, can't you see?

Football / The twelfth man.
« on: May 08, 2021, 04:38:02 PM »
There’s a show on TV6 a few times a week called the twelfth man hosted by andre baptiste which features every day fans from TT talking about their favorite teams. these guys are all so-called hardcore fans of the worlds top teams like the UK top four, Spain’s top three and so on, mind you no one follows santos, flamingos, Cruz azul, Leeds united, hibernian, portvale, west brom, W connection, jablote......got my point?

listening to these guys you would think that they reside right there in britain, Spain or germany. watching the passion of these fans as they talk about their favorite teams in exact detail, i must admit that no one in Europe would believe that they were from islands thousands of miles away who probably never set a toe nail in old trafford or stamford bridge but are as committed as any britisher would, then it dawned on me....this is what’s killing our local football.

These boys has never seen a fan club in their own community, never worn a jersey from their local club with pride, never been to their own community facility to watch a game and see their uncles, neighbors, the big boys in the neighborhood singing shouting and drinking beers while the game heats up. never been to the pub on Friday nights where they prepare for Saturday morning and the main topic is how we’re going to destroy our opponents come the morrow, yet people complain that no one likes sports in TT anymore.

What are the local football big shots in trinidad and tobago doing to bring back an interest in sports in the country, do they even compare notes with other countries who have strong footballing traditions or make the effort to liaise with these leagues around the world for assistance? holy smoke..... it’s like these people don’t even have a brain on their shoulders. It seems like they only sit in positions of power just to be seen or recognized, but fail to really grind for the interest of the sport and make things happen, are they for real?

TT we need to bring people back to the sport so we don’t have this looney dependency for top flight football, and this is the reason why our young people don’t watch local football anymore, who could go from watching neymar scoring a wonder hattrick to Willis plaza miskicking a sitter in front of an open goal? more interest needs to placed on foreign sponsorship as well as local sponsors getting on board, they also need to devise well thought out plans to attract youth involvement, over all a lot of marketing strategy and comprehensive planning needs to be employed.

this is not rocket science, and with a lot of know how and the right people involved this is actually attainable, what's the big deal people? get it done already! if you could organize carnival and do a bang up job, you can also organize this.

Football / FS1 and ESPN.
« on: February 02, 2021, 03:23:00 AM »
I'm promising myself that by the next world cup i should be able to communicate in spanish so i could watch football without being annoyed by these nutty bias yankee sports channels with that haitian ass licker murice edo and ginger side kick the lanky wanker has been, lal...ass.

i don't know who saw the game on FS1 but it was down right disrespectful that they only gave coverage to their players, including the coin toss where they deliberately excluded our team where you couldn't even tell who was captaining the TT team because they kept the camera solely on paul ariola, and i think it was done intentional.

during the game i couldn't tell when hackshaw and jabari mitchel came into the game, because their commentators were too busy and distracted pumping up their own team while ignoring the TT changes, even during the fouls no TT players names were mention when they were being hacked by the golden boy team. in all honesty i will never support that team, hope the next opponent they meet bring them back down to earth.

Football / Who else is looking forward to a ban with great enthusiasm?
« on: August 25, 2020, 02:43:56 AM »
It would mean that DJW did not get his way and fifa did not get the self satisfaction of walking all over us. everyone is calling for cooler heads and to consider the future of the youths, yet they did not consider football nor the youths when DJW and Dennis the menace had us taking licks all over the globe with a drop in fifa ranking to over a hundred.

it will actually take us about 2 yrs to get football back on track anyway, and for sure we not going to the octagon neither the gold cup, so what’s the hurry? it would actually be a good hiatus for us to get our house in order and come back stronger. Who else says bring it on giovani?

Football / If this doesn't motivate us.........
« on: October 13, 2017, 10:45:41 AM »
last night I finally came down off my high I just couldn't sleep well for the past two nights simply because of maybe overachievers anxiety who knows but while in my state of sleeplessness I wondered around the web quite a bit after watch Taylor twellman's rave which brought me to a bunch of independent blogs moaning about how really bad their soccer programs are and how much they need developmental programs and more so youth development and more shockingly was that they have been beaten.....not by the worst team in the hex nor the worst team in CFU but by the very worst team in the whole of concacaf! which mad me very bloody angry! AND IF THIS DOESNT MOTIVATE US THEN NOTHING WILL. how very insulting.

These people are so self important and self entitled that they only found out yesterday that they needed youth development, they didnt see that for the last 28 years and 7 consecutive World Cup appearances that they needed youth development? What about after winning the gold cup in july, didnt they realize that they needed a developmental program on the youth level? I heard twellman lalas wanaldo bob lee and all of the pundits heaping praises on dempsey nagbe and pulisic about their victory vs jamaica by winning the gold cup but no mention that things could be better and they are taking false pride in a failing system.

on ending, I hope every national player would visit the Internet and see all these little blog sites mainly on youtube dispicably describing our football as utta rubbish and down playing our achievement by beating them while containing them to very little ball movement like they were used too and saying that their team was lathargic when in fact dennis lawrence and his staff finally found a solution to contain these teams in concacaf, and they were contained, but no we gets no credit for that, and Bruce arena knew it that's why he said we played a great game.

and if they weren't so arrogant they would have taken note because no team ran over us at home not mexico not honduras not costa rica, and if they weren't self absorbed and disrespectful they would have took note of friday's game where mexico had to pull a rabbit out their ass to beat us, but Bruce when ask the question prior to tuesday's game he said he didn't have trinidad in mind. I bet he wished he did now.

our players our administrators our clubs need to keep this in their heads that we need to do better and maintain a standard because Lawrence sol and stern has showed us a way to best these arrogant bastards both mexico and the usa and its up to us now to keep the torch burning, and like I said above, if after all the insults and the cheap shots, if this doesn't motivate us then nothing will.

mods please don't merge right away. it would be interesting to hear what the forum had to say about the abuse we have been receiving after this disappointing usa loss by these heady high minded americans.

Football / still no luck after 26 years?
« on: September 07, 2016, 09:10:02 AM »
pardon the intrusion moderators my first thread here simply because there must be some sobering dialogue on what took place last night. maybe you can merge later.

my version of events lead me to beg the question, after 26 years why have we not figured out a way to hold these basic yankees on their home turf and render them ineffective like jamaica has done on so many occasions?

last night's game was no mystery, it was like watching a game from the 90s where they played the long ball down the flanks crossed into the box on the ground and boom goal, landon donovan and coby jones have mastered this tactic for years while waiting on the edge of our 6 yard box were mc bride and eddie johnson for the easy tap in, and it worked every time.

we had a terrific first half of play which should have seen us take the lead with the many looks on goal at our disposal, but for some strange reason unknown to us jovin jones and levi garcia seemed shelled shocked, as for kenwin jones who has now become our albatross, he spend the whole night trying to get the ball unstock from up under him.

as the years progressed i can't help but notice how cumbersome jones has become with the ball at his feet, normally with time players get the hang of their first touch and progress to be more smooth dynamic players, but this bloke somehow has not been able to come to terms with his passing and dribbling and we saw this against guatemala and the united states which cost us to lose out on quite a few opportunities on goal.

another mystery which is quite difficult for me to come to terms with for the life of me, is why have we not been able to use our flanks effectively by putting in cross after cross in their penalty box especially when we have the best header of the ball in concacaf? in every game we have consistently failed to use this weapon to our advantage which could clearly open up a game for us.

another thing we have failed to do consistently over the years is to organize our defense like panama and costa rica has done. last night the united states had done nothing out of the ordinary, they played deep into their half to neutralize our speedsters like jovin, garcia and molino, while we allowed our defenders to lose their shape and become discombobulated.

they used the flanks over and over again especially on the attacking left, while leaving two defenders on the 18 yard line at all times and kept their defensive shape throughout, and the only thing that would have disrupted that was an early goal.

we actually played this game like we were up by a couple of goals and was cruising along by trying to maintain possession, we didn't press them in their 18 yrd box nor used our flanks effectively, while they had two players constantly guarding their flanks on defense which constricted us to lumping the long ball into the box which cannot work especially when there was two defenders glued to jones at all times.

in closing the best player on the field last night was hyland by my observation, and i know folks like controversial would disagree simply because he watches the game from a spectators point of view and misses the subtilties of professional football only privy to the keen eye, but hyland broke up so many plays emanating from the midfield that left them frustrated, and without him we would have been in serious trouble, molino also broke a sweat but could not connect with jones who was clearly not himself last night.

i don't believe the united states is anything special, actually they are as basic as you can get get if you ask me, but their saving grace over the years seems to be that they understand the game thoroughly, they are extremely disciplined, (something we desperately needs to learn) and only plays to their strengths. what are your thoughts?
