Football / Where have TT dribblers gone?
« on: June 11, 2013, 11:15:11 AM »
As far back as I can remember T&T Football always had good dribblers:

Watching the last two games, it is evident that this art seems to be dead in our
football. Or at least in the present selection.

Even watching a few pro league games and Intercol, it is rear to see some classic dribbling.

Where have the Deleon's, Gally's, Mitchell's, Llewlyn's, Neptune's, Clauzel's, Latapy's gone.

Football / 2013 Confederation Cup
« on: May 18, 2013, 08:59:50 AM »
This should be a very interesting Tournament

Spain, Mexico, Italy, Nigeria, Japan, Tahiti, Uruguay, Brasil

Considering the times of the games, which will be a contrast to the actual WC. It will be interesting to observe the various tactical approach of the Nations involved. I say this because the Climatic conditions in South Africa were better suited to the Euro teams, where as Basil will be very different

Football / Young Ballers to look out for (for those interested)
« on: March 11, 2013, 02:48:04 PM »
Here are a few very serious young ballers to keep an eye out for. Very impressive.

Isco (Spanish) Malaga, arguably the best of the lot. Technically Smooth, imaginative & creative in possession.

Quintero (Colombian) Pescera, loves to run at opponents & can beat very exciting

Cuadrado (Colombia) Fiorentina, Wide right player very exciting, love to beat but very modern in terms of understanding his responsibility.

I also like a forward  Léo Baptistão (Brazilian) playing for Real Vallacano, he did some serious stuff but I have not seen enough of him.

Football / 2013 Copa Del Rey Thread

Copa Del Rey (spoliers)

Barca look completely lost and have been so since Tito Villanova got ill.

They lack width, looked completely disorganized near their own penalty area and key players like Xavi & Fabragas seem very uncertain and hesitant. When Tito was around they played quicker, more direct on the ground with their penetration and were clinical in recovering the ball.

Yes they still can maintain possession, neat and tidy, but like Milan, Real are exploiting them on the transition.

Good thing they have the League locked up, because right now I cannot see them winning anything else.

Was at a friends house and happen to see a game from Iran. Jlloyd Samuel played very well. Hopefully he is considered for the GC selection. From all indications he is playing both as a defender and in midfield.

Football / Sepp Blatter & FIFA
« on: January 03, 2013, 08:09:55 AM »
Inept Sepp! This man could talk without thinking. He Blast MLS & build up China, all without thought.

The MLS and CSL  started around the same time, both have around the same average attendance.

The difference is China has just had major charges of corruption  throughout its football Clubs and Leagues. With the League CEO sentence to 10 yrs and the man who replace him, also arrested recently. 50 players and ten referees have also been arrested. This is not the first or second time.
I guess to get some love from Sepp you have to be corrupt. The fact is people in football know why Blatter / FIFA will say what he said when it comes to China.

« on: November 23, 2012, 09:55:05 AM »

In church one Sunday morning, a preacher said, "Anyone with 'special needs" who wants to be prayed over, please come forward to the front by the altar."

With that, Leroy get in line, and when it was his turn, the Preacher asked, "Leroy, what do you want me to pray about for you?"

The preacher put one finger of one hand in Leroy's ear, placed his other hand on top of Leroy's head, and then prayed and prayed and prayed.

He prayed a "blue streak" for Leroy, and the whole congregation joined in with great enthusiasm.

After a few minutes, the preacher removed his hands, stood back and asked, "Leroy, how is your hearing now?"
