Football / Present National Team
« on: September 13, 2015, 07:31:34 PM »
Men talking football and the general concensus is that this present National team
is one of the least talented in many years, yet playing some of the best football.
Yes the back line suspect, but that is maninly because our wing backs are really converted
stoppers.

This team have no Yorke, Stern, Latapy, Nixon,  Lawrence, Shaka or Ince.
Not even an Eve, Nakid or Dwarika, but yet they competing.

Not much to work with in truth, but some how the team working.

IMHO the games on grass are far better. More exciting and the players skill seem better, especially beating players and shooting.
On the turf it seems man foot sticking and plenty shots flying over bars.

Boy WF and dem Voyagers is real haters yes. WF bash SH after the U17 and them Voyagers was all over the man when they lost to Jamaica (even though Canada play all over Jamaica). Now man talking through the other side of dem mouth. It have one hater Grizzley, he watch one game under SH and say he can't coach. Yet Canada win the game we against Jamaica. Now he come back and say SH surprise him or something so buy he still prefer Mitchell. I thinking Mitchell eh even coach one game yet. Hater is haters we.

Boss job SH. Man from all over Jamaican Canadian, trin Canadian, Yugoslavian Canadian, Romainain Canadian all say is the best football Canada ever ever play. If they continue to play like that they will support the team hands down. Nuff praise.

SH. He was in Germany representing and really enjoyed the games. He said there was some real special moments outside of the Trinidad and Tobago games. The people he was liming with from the Forum + others made for a special time. Meeting the players from the 1973 team and spending time with them. I was laughing because he say he have  special respect for a bunch of Yard Man who show up without tickets, but had their red shirts to support T&T all the way. The man say he sure Tallman, Patriot, Andre Samuel and dem eh coming back till the last game because dem men real playing themselves hahahhahah.

Regardless what happens this year will be Arsenal's lowest placing in the League since Wenger took over. Amazing record when you really think about it. Since he came to Arsenal the lowest he finished was second. On another front I hope ManU give Chelsea a run, but Chelsea seems to win even when theynot playing well, too many weapons.

Football / Watch this argument on Yorke
« on: April 06, 2006, 11:45:03 AM »
While I was bigging up the Yorke Cole combination, a much more learned football man quietly said to me that I should consider the entire season and I would see a more prolific partnership in Beckham Yorke. In his words "neither has been the same since they parted company"
Hmmmm! I must admit de man have me thinking hard on this one.

Football / Very interesting Check it
« on: March 15, 2006, 04:13:18 PM »
I think thsi is a good idea to think about. I would make it simpler. 3 points for a win and one point for each goal. Even if a team lose but score two they get two points. Lard football attitudes will change

Six possible changes
Over a five-month period Hidalgo canvassed the opinions of club presidents, coaches, players, broadcasters and key figures from other team sports, and last week he proposed six possible changes to the points system:

● Two points for a score draw and one for a goalless draw
● One point for a draw plus another for the team that scores first
● Penalty shoot-outs, with three or four points for a win after 90 minutes, two points for a win after penalties and one point for a defeat after penalties
● Extra points depending on the margin of victory, for instance, five points for victory by more than two goals, four points for a win by two goals etc
● Rewarding a two-goal winning margin, so that three points are awarded for a win by two goals or more, and only two points for a win by a single goal
● Coupling league matches on a European home-and-away basis with a bonus point awarded to the side that wins its 'tie' on aggregate

Mixed response
Those six proposals have been put to club presidents and have been met by a mixed response, but the LFP is keen to implement change, even considering testing proposals five and six in Ligue 2 next season. "Number five is not bad," Paris Saint-Germain FC defender Sylvain Armand said. “Very often the team leading 1-0 keeps it tight. With a bonus for the second goal they would be keen to keep attacking and so improve the spectacle."

Football / Admission of guilt

Look I saying it now. Sometime ago someone write on the board that if even T&T qualify we go get real licks.

To tell yuh the truth I watch the games about 3 times each and I worried. The team did not play well. The football slow, lack movement and ideas. Against well organized teams I real fraid for we, not to mention how easy teams does break down we defense.

Now I know Beenie have money to prepare and he will do his best come next year to have the team ready. But I eh sure 6 months is enough for the big show.

Ok go ahead ah go take meh boff and licks

Football / Other International Eng vs Arg
« on: November 13, 2005, 04:27:15 PM »
Just watching Argentina vs England a few things struck me. Rooney is the real deal and in Robinson they have a good GKeeper. Lampard though a good player is not in the class of Requelme, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Zidane or Ballack. He works hard and pops up with goals but his game lacks true creativity (for a midfielder). The other names above can score, create and dictate an entire game.

Football / What qualification means to T&T
« on: November 12, 2005, 08:37:34 AM »
While we all wish, pray, walk with garlic in we pocket and use every other capiech to qualify for the WC. Consider this Australia news papers states that simply for qualifying for the final 32. teams receive 10 MILLION US from FIFA. Dat is real dollars. Ah only hope when we qualify we see some accountability for that kind ah money. Make sure it is used for preparation and to establish some kind of youth program for the country

Football / Roy Kean is real tears yes
« on: November 01, 2005, 09:59:53 AM »

the man lash out at his team mates in the squad, amazing that he would say something so in public.

The Keane Comments Saga – Part Two
11/1/2005 2:24:00 PM
It has now emerged that what Roy Keane said about Manchester United’s performance against Middlesbrough was pretty explosive stuff. The forthright Irishman’s comments were pulled by MUTV.
And according to The Sun newspaper, Keane ireportedly laced into Darren Fletcher, John O’Shea, Kieran Richardson, Alan Smith and Liam Miller, saying they are not good enough for United.

Keane was in the MUTV studio to record a “Roy Keane Plays The Pundit” feature for United’s own TV channel. The object of his analysis was Saturday’s humbling 4-1 defeat at Middlesbrough.

But a club insider apparently told the newspaper: "The criticism from Keane was absolutely incredible.

"It was described by one person at MUTV as unusable.

"The manager has put the blocks on it. He could not believe what he was hearing.

"Keane has been outspoken in his criticism in the past but this was absolutely off the scale."

The programme was scheduled to be screened at 1730 GMT on Monday on MUTV, but was swiftly substituted.

Keane has questioned the desire of some of his team-mates on more than one occasion in the past.

But manager Sir Alex Ferguson deflected questions about Keane’s comments ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League game with Lille.

Ferguson said: "That is the great thing about football - we have had a few days to recover from a bad result and hopefully we can put things right tomorrow."
