2-1 to Iceland sounds good to me ;D Eyjolfur Sverrisson should do a good job for Iceland

you forgot to mention Arni Gautur Arason of Valarenga, he must be one of the best goalkeepers around, too good for the Norwegian league deserves a chance in one of the top leagues, never really given a chance at Man City (just 2 FA Cup games)

I will be at Loftus Rd with my IA flag

This will be Icelands first game with new coach Eyjolfur Sverrisson so the players will be out to impress him :)
I do not think 3 goal margin will happen
Some of the Scandinavian based players will not have played any competitive football for 4 months so may struggle for fitness.
The Icelandic league fnished in September and will not start again until May :( but i don't think many home based players will be in the squad.

Football / Tickets on sale for T&T vs Iceland
« on: January 27, 2006, 03:33:17 PM »
Tickets for the forthcoming international friendly between Trinidad & Tobago and Iceland, at Loftus Road, are now on general sale.

Trinidad, who are in the same group as England for the 2006 World Cup in Germany this summer, will lock horns with their Scandinavian-based opponents on Tuesday 28 February (8pm kick off).

Tickets are priced at £20 adult and £10 junior and can be purchased via the the Box Office and www.qpr.premiumtv.co.uk. Telephone Credit Card bookings can be made direct to the Box Office Monday - Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, on 0870 112 1967 (£2.00 per transaction will apply).

Loftus Road will be segregated as follows:
  • Trinidad & Tobago - South Africa Road (blocks E, F & G), East Paddock, Loft Upper, Loft Lower.
  • Iceland - South Africa Road (blocks A, B & C), West Paddock, School Upper, School Lower.

Subject to availability, tickets can also be purchased on the day of the match, at an increased price of £25.

Former Manchester United star Dwight Yorke will captain the Soca Warriors at Loftus Road.

Mike Berry, UK consultant for the Trinidad & Tobago Football Federation, said: "It's got all the makings of a great evening's entertainment. "Although it's a great opportunity for the London-based Trinidadians to give the players the perfect send-off to Germany, it's also a fantastic chance for any football fan to come and watch an international friendly in the Capital. "The day of the game is 'Carnival Tuesday' in Trinidad and we want to replicate that kind of party atmosphere at Loftus Road!''

Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen will feature for Iceland.

West Ham's Shaka Hislop, Chelsea's Icelandic star Eidur Gudjohnsen, former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke and Fulham front-man Heider Helguson should all figure, in what promises to be another superb spectacle for both Queens Park Rangers and the respective countries involved.
Trinidad & Tobago goalkeeper Hislop is encouraging his countries English-based supporters to rally round their side ahead of the summer showcase in Germany: "It will be a great occasion and the whole squad is looking forward to playing in England and in front of our fans here.
"We've all seen the success a fixture on neutral soil has had in the past here (when Jamaica played Nigeria in 2002) and hopefully this will be another good game.''

WIN 4 Game tickets to see T&T vs Iceland.

There are 10 clubs in the Icelandic Premier Division, the current champions are FH. The league starts in May and ends in September. There is a FA Cup competition which starts in May and the final is end of September.
The League Cup starts in January/February and the final is early May, most of the game are played indoors, there are now 4 full size indoor halls in Reykjavik, Keflavik, Kopavogur and Akureyri. There is one being built in Akranes too.

Icelandic football has improved over recent years, most of the squad do not play in the Icelandic league, in English Premiership there is Eidur Gudjohnsen (Chelsea), Hermann Hreidarsson (Charlton), Heidar Helguson (Fulham), others play in english championship, some in Belgium, Sweden and Norway.
It will be Eyjolfur Sverrissons first game in charge of Iceland 8)
