Why do we have to have these positions whereby one incompetitent person has so much power with no one to answer to?
Trinidad football should be restructured. If you have  one person at the top, then there should be various committees which also have involvement in the decision making process.
Appropiation of funds and other matters dealing with money would not be  solely in the hands of the person at the top but in the hands of  nobody, because there would be transparency and shared powers.
The committees would also be responsible for policy coordination, advise the person at the top and facilitate cooperation of the departments in matters of National Football.
These committees could be comprised of non paid members.

Same Khaki pants..not a negative comment...why take it as a negative? I said it before ..coaching in the English league is comparing apples to oranges when it comes to coaching a National team.
It would be even more difficult coaching Trinidad for many reasons. I'll name a few..lack of resources, player limitation, limited time to build a strong cohesive unit, leadership experience by the coach.
This coach is an assistant who is an active participant in another man's philosophy..does he fully understand Martinez's methods? I don't understand Martinez's methods..I never liked him, I always thought he was overrated and his relegation into the Championship Division is long overdue.
That methodology would not work with any National set up.
Who knows what is Dennis Lawrence's philosophy?

What has Lincoln Phillips done for Trinidad football during his tenure?
What legacy did Phillips leave?
Did Trinidad football improve?
Did Trinidad football remain the same as before he  took charge?
Did Trinidad football get worse?
Getting to the World Cup? Trinidad and Tobago didn't need Phillips for that.
What structure did he build?
He licenced some coaches ..Trinidad could have done that without Phillips.
What else did he do?

I don't live in Trinidad but I visit quite regularly..sometimes four to five times a year.

None of the clubs in Trinidad have any idea of the philosophy of football required by the National Program.
What is the role of the Technical Director? Is it to go about the place looking at players all over the world in search of the most passionate players?
I have read a recent thread which compared the various coaching strategies in Trinidad, some were described as defensive, inconsistent, incoherent , slow..and whatever else.
This illustrates the problem is in the developmental process from the youth level.
The role of the Technical Director should be to come up with a system and a style of football for the National team, a philosophy of football, a Grand Strategy...National Team Objectives.
He should get coaches together through regular symposiums which he would help the coaches understand the National Team Objectives.
The coaches would then go back to their respective clubs better equipped to produce the right type of player to fit into the National framework.

Football / Trinidad Football Has No Future
« on: May 16, 2013, 09:54:31 PM »
Trinidad Football has no future because we do not have a National Strategy.
Strategy in its most fundamental sense is nothing more than a plan of action that organizes efforts to achieve an objective.
Just as it is difficult to score a bull's-eye without a target, it is also difficult to devise a successful plan of action unless one knows the objective of that plan.
If the objectives are ill defined, inconsistent, or unsupported by some degree of national consensus, then the strategists function becomes exceedingly difficult.
Thus , all the strategists/coaches in Trinidad have no clear vision of the National objective.
The strategist/coach's first task is to able to define the national football objectives that form the foundation of the strategy process.

Eddy Hart is a good league if you survey any young player in Trinidad and ask if he would play in the Eddy Hart he would reply in the affirmative.
I think it has a long tradition and many good players can be found playing there on any given night. Coaching in a league like that would be no different from coaching anywhere else..believe it or not many factors are the same ... For instance the pressure to win,the limited resources, everybody wants to play and everybody wants to coach.

So I should be exempt from having fun on this virtual block? Are there no other professional on this forum? Professionals should only say things to impress members on this forum in exchange for respect ?
I say the contrary I too don't give a flying hoot because I am not trying to impress anyone on this forum and I am not looking for respect from anyone in a virtual community who has  absolutely no bearing on my life.
The people I have to impress are my players and the people whom  I am in charge of.

This fella sounds like he has de right attitude..we need more players like him..the problem is the coaches not the player..
Allyuh feel dem big players like Balotelli and Anelka and whoeverelse don't feel the same way about themselves
Rambo Gibbs had the same attitude and was stifled in Trinidad..these players are artists ..they have to handled with care ...the coach has to know what  makes this player tick  and he'll get the best out of him.

Ferguson likes the man...I feel is Jose..

Truthfully from the U17 I would call Brent Sam, the overlapping right back and the yankee fella who scored from outside twice.. at least these players would have come in to train so I could do some assesments..
I would call Winchester and Henry to train ...I would call outstanding young players for measurement and assessments.. Young players adapt very quickly.
In Vietnam the average age of the soldier was 19..In any war ..the average age of the fighters is about 19yrs...football is war the warriors should be young ,strong fearless and skilled, trust me Trinidad players have skills..
In wars mercenaries and Special Ops are usually veterans but they are the best of the best..we don't have access to any player of that level..so we have to start somewhere..
Leave the mediocre old men alone...they are playing in the lower leagues for a reason.

Why don't de people of Trinidad ask Jack Warner why he wants to go work for them for just 50 cents a year?
Why is his desire to work for 50cents so strong?
