Football / Re: The Home of Football is Useless
« on: February 08, 2020, 10:53:33 PM »
So the Home of Football has Fire violations ..hmm how many houses or buildings in Trinidad and Tobago have fire alarms ..I don't think the average person in Trinidad have any idea what a fire alarm looks like.

I just got internet back yes..and after all that  time I see no change in the stupid meter .

Please let's not  change the subject to Fire. This is about Football.

If you or whoever else want to talk about Fire take that up with Fire services.

Football / The Home of Football is Useless
« on: February 07, 2020, 11:29:54 PM »
The Home of Football is useless and teams have to use grounds in various parts of Trinidad. It is quite disheartening and disappointing to hear this. It is also disturbing to hear that players from Tobago can’t make it to practice in Trinidad because of lack of accommodations.
I felt the democratic process is allowing football to advance in Trinidad. By this I mean that we all benefit or suffer from or by whatever was done by the last President.

I hope that the Home of Football is being utilized in the smart way that it was intended by the previous President. Mr Williams did a great thing for Football in Trinidad by creating this facility so that it could help Football become fiscally and financially responsible for itself.
In the world of business and Football (Football is a business) it makes sense to make fiscal sacrifices in the short term so as to reap the benefits in the long term. How bad can the facility be when the facility was utilized and put to a test just before the election.
The Home of Football belongs to Football I don’t understand how it’s all of a sudden useless.
I am not a supporter of anybody, be it Look Jack, John Williams or whoever in charge, my main concern is Trinidad and Tobago Football.. which means I support the players, The Coaches and the programs. We should all be happy and glad that the players can stay and train on site.. this nonsense talk about no insurance.. so Look Jack is saying when a player gets injured on St Mary’s ground the Catholic Church have Insurance for the player to compensate for getting damage?

What is this nonsense? I must be an idiot.
Mr Look Jack  get to work and get  some insurance, put down some sod , and get some clean linen and put on the beds .. ask the parents to volunteer as chaperones  and use the facility that is there for the players and the Coaches.. Stop this useless stress you are bringing to the players and Coaches by making them drive away from their home to  go to Serpentine Road and wherever else to train. Who is in charge is it Look Jack or whatsoever  the new President name is .. he is useless  as far as I see.

I know I am wasting my valuable time right now taking this time to write a reply to this thing.

The question is: Is building a local team could be a step in the right direction . one has to ponder this question and consider a number of factors before answering it.

Factors to consider: How old should the players of this team be?

If you want to build this local team with players beyond the age of fourteen ..I say that would be a big waste of time.

Who should  be responsible for building this team?

If you say the name of any local coach whose name is already known to us..I say that would be a big waste of resources.

How would something like  that be paid for?

If you say the same way things like that traditionally get paid for...I say that would be a big waste of money.

The preparation involved in putting forth a world class National team requires at least 14 yrs of sophisticated and scientific training and development of the players.

The Trinidad player develops in primary school leagues, amateur clubs with little knowledge of world class player development, and ofcourse the Colleges league.

The only place where the player gains some knowledge of the game is the Club..that's if the Coaches were former players themselves.

If the player is playing  meaningless competition ..the player is wasting his time and talent.

Competition does not and will never ..as long as the sun shines..can ever make a world class player.

If you say that the leagues of the old days produced the top players ..I say to you that it's the other way around ..those players made those leagues..they came to the leagues with their gifts and left the leagues with their gifts..by and large most of them didn't improve.( Recreational)

Meaningful , systematic , scientific and regularly organized planned training by the best Coaches over a span of 14yrs will produce the best players.

New administration ..same khaki pants..Lok Loy back again..this thing is a revolving door.. the same people just jumping in and jumping out

Senior Team Coach is important to them because the senior team makes money for them.

They don't want to put any money neither any time into youth development.

They will run up bills and debt..get the tax payers to foot the bills..business as usual..the people on this board were put here by them to maintain the status quo.

If allyuh love Trinidad and Tobago Football so much why not push for proper youth development?
Why not push for Coaching education?

Big up to the last administration for laying down a physical foundation so that these things can be facilitated.

Allyuh just want to see the National Team hold their end against Mexico and the USA in the Gold Cup..
that is so low achieving, mediocre and short sighted.

You have men here who went to Pres, Naps, St Mary's and all the brainious institutions and you go on and on about your infinite knowledge of all things football ..yet not able to set your compass to point in the right direction without being distracted.

This iodiocy must stop! I am fed up of coming on this site every five years to continue the same conversations with the SAME train of thought ..is there no one on this board who has changed his views or upgraded his thought process in the last five years? If you are thinking the same things the same way as you did five years ago ..something is not right..we have to grow not remain stagnant.

Tallman all I remember is that Dennis Lawrence was at the helm and Trinidad and Tobago soundly beat the USA..the score was 2-1.

Thank You Dennis Lawrence ! You put the USA out the World Cup. Costa Rica and Mexico had already qualified and they want to see the US suffer so they did their due diligence.

Big up Dennis Lawrence..If the TTFA wanted to improve football in Trinidad and Tobago they would have hired him to set up a proper Youth Development program.

And Mr Tallman why you and boys like to keep puttin lipstick on  pig?

Go to the source of the problem ..Colleges league can't develop players..the clubs are no clubs at all and the  leagues have no real value to them..so tell me how any Coach can put forth a National Team which can compete in today's football arena?

I am sorry for Football in the twin island Republic

I am sorry to see Dennis Lawrence go. He was a nice guy. I am Thankful for his services. He was the man who put the USA out of the World Cup.

I don't believe that there is an active local Coach who would have any success with the National Senior team.

Trinidad and Tobago football is at an all time low. This lowpoint is a reflection of the overall poor state of football in the twin island Republic. There aren't any real developmental programs/academies/Coaching Schools. The Coaches are marooned on the island; they don't get a chance to leave and go to  a developed nation to see something different. Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, are great places to go learn how to run a youth program.

The football is stuck in the 18th century..Colleges league is the most important league...the players are mediocre at best.

Football was at it's highest in the 60's and  the 80's. The elements which made the football of that Golden era
were never identified so nobody knows what it takes to produce another Latapy or Dwight Yorke..we will never produce another player of their quality under the current culture.

So in closing I say again ..There is no active Coach foreign or domestic who is currently living on those islands has the ability, knowledge or know how.. can bring any success to any National program..the football and the football culture is in the 18th century.
   Jah Bless

Well it's good to be back after some years away, Right now Hart is the best Coach for job . I hope he gets paid.
The Home of Football is forever and it's a positive for Trinidad and Tobago. Thanks to the outgoing President for his contribution to the development of Football in this twin island Nation.

Bless up.

I feel for Latapy the poor guy ..I don't know what is his vision as a Coach ..as a player it was clear. Trinidad and Tobago should hire a real Technical Director so that these young Coaches like Latapy,Eve and others can develop. It's so disheartening to see that there is no style of play, no real system, players having trouble controlling and passing..the future looks very dim.
The players are lacking in the basics, their game experience  like their game intelligence appear to be very limited to say the least.
I suggest that the administration should hire a foreign Technical Director..one with experience and knowledge in implementing a system of football which teaches both the player and the Coach what is required for success at the highest level.
It is clear the Coach lacks in vision as well as experience because his players play the game like novices who spend more time playing wii and Fifa than actually spending time practicing with a real football. This I can tell by just looking at the physique of these players ..they don't spend nearly enough time with the ball on a daily basis. I don't feel they even play small goal on a regular basis..so sad to see.

Football / Re: The evolution of football and tactics

The objective of the game is to score goals. The team that scores the most wins..it doesn't matter how long a team can possess the ball. Just put players on the field who can get goals, make goals/create goals..system of football means very little if a team has those weapons .

France fielded Griezeman-striker
                      Giroud     - striker
                       Mbappe  - striker
                       Pogba      goal getter

Those four can play as a lone striker in any set up..here we see four goal hungry players on the same team..what about the others who I haven't mentioned.

This programme will not be successful without the right Director of Coaching and the right Technical Director.

I sincerely feel that Steven Hart should be Technical Director and the Director of Coaching should be a Brazilian or some other foreigner with the expertise and experience of Youth Development at the Pro Level.  I  say a country like Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina ..because the person would be more affordable than a European.

I sorry to hear about de Pro League but seriously ..de league speaks for itself ..it is a poor quality product which is poorly packaged and not likely to be taken seriously in the Football market place.

It reminds me of the Sugar Cane industry which was subsidized by de govt for many years ..always a failure and it was only a matter of time before it met it's demise.

Sad to say but..it is what it is..

Football / Re: 2017/18 T&T Pro League Thread
« on: November 30, 2017, 09:36:01 PM »
I cannot say anything negative about the players in the Pro League ..the players are doing their best. The ProLeague as a whole ..as a matter of fact all  Pro football in the W.I  lacks professionalism.

The problem is knowledge of the game at the Pro Level. The Pro League needs coaches who are at the level on Dennis Lawrence and Steve Hart.

The tactics is very much to be desired..because the coaches and trainers are limited in their scope the result is less than the Pro standard.

Long ago players played so much free football as kids the game taught the player so much that the player rose  to a professional standard on his own.

Nowadays these licenced coaches are everywhere limiting the potential of players...

one can see when these same players play under professional coaches how much better they look. In my opinion this is the main reason why the Pro League football is obzuky and unattractive. It is certainly not
entertaining and it is not beautiful.

The solution: Go Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Costa Rica and bring coaches and trainers to work at the various clubs..dem fellas will certainly make a difference.

Imagine Stuart Charles Fevrier Football is the standard of Pro Football in the Caribbean ..something is not right.

I love to read Alvin Corneal's articles about the great days of Colts, Maple, Malvern, Lantern Giants, Juniors, and Casuals..those teams have been out of existence or at least out of the top flight for close to fifty years..
How can we get back to those good ole days eh ..?

I feel we should stop Pro league go back to amateur days ..let  de fellas go and learn trade ..dey could do plumbing and welding during de day and train on evenings..de best players make a few extra dollars off gamblers who bet on how much goal he score..bring back de ole time days..
