he just scored a crazy goal against Rooney & his DC teammates in the MLS playoffs. He came on in the second half and also had an assist.

Football / Re: Levi Garcia Thread
« on: June 17, 2019, 11:20:37 PM »
I believe that Levi Garcia may have more potential than any T&T footballer that there has ever been. Why? He has Dwight's athleticism and more, he has the skill of Russel, has a shot like Stern, and has vision like Dwarika. I honestly do find that his biggest issue is mental. He's determined and convicted and I love that. I think he shows more determination and conviction than any other Trini footballer that I've seen. Somehow though, I think there is a small lack of self belief. For instance, he will do all the hard work and then when he's in a good position to score, whether he's one or one or has a single defender runnin with him and a good sight on goal I feel like he doesn't believe enough that he'll score and he sort of hits and hopes. Too often at least.

His decision making is holding him back. Very creative, but too often his creativity is not economical enough. There is a time to beats, and a time to pass, and a time to make the obvious pass and a time to make the less obvious pass. I see him mixing all of these up too often, and because he has a lot of skill, strength and pace he either gets away with it mostly or half.

Levi could be a lot more like Leon Bailey, but his decision making has to get better and his self belief has to improve. That's just my opinion. I think even if he doesnt sort this out, it's not unlikely that he'll find himself in top form and have a great career.

Problem for me is, i truly believe he can be one of the best in the world, not just great for a Trini. Digressing, I typically love seeing him play, though I'd love to see his performances for T&T swing back into a more confident, marauding tone.

Comfortably? I very much doubt, but I can see them competing. I think is a slightly downward move, but it doesn't mean that it isn't a good move for him all things considered.

Unsuccessful;

https://www.liga-zwei.de/sv-darmstadt-98-kein-vertrag-fuer-alvin-jones/

(google translate of important bit;)

"While the search for a new center-back continues, Alvin Jones, who has been tested in the training camp in Spain, is not required. The 24-year-old right-back, brother of Joevin Jones, could not completely convince coach Dirk Schuster and returns to Trinidad and Tobago, according to the Darmstadt Echo."

I heard today that he got thru with a contract.  Not sure with who.  Will see if i get more details tmrw.  I wish him all the best!

I heard it's with Minnesota United. It would be a great move with Kevin looking out for him. That's where Kerron was supposed to go before his unfortunate incident. Really hoping all goes well.
Cummings was supposed to go to Orlando while Molino was there but glad to hear something is in the works for AJ.

Ah, you are correct there, and I'm hearing back not that it may not be Minnesota. Will hit y'all back when I know more.

Football / Re: Who is Nicklas Frenderup?
« on: November 14, 2018, 06:45:35 PM »
LOL the first 2 minutes of Nicklas highlights video is him launching attacks, i mean, don't get me wrong if he's John Bostock and a keeper rolled in one that's cool, but maybe I am slightly more interested in whether or not he blockin every shot from easy to difficult. Two most important minutes of his highlight video he showin off his passin ability. Wdmc.

Regardless, Greg deserved a call up before him. He seems a better keeper, i've seen a way greater volume of him consistently playing well and he's been, as far as i know, knocking at the door for longer.

Ranjitsingh will get called up by Canada sooner or later I believe. Unless, there is something going on behind the scenes then I cannot help but feel that Dennis is f**kin up. I've always supported Dennis as a player, which reached fever pitch before he scored the winner in Bahrain, it was that solo goal against Panama, but I cannot say i've been a fan of his coaching. I've tried to be supportive, but there's a lot of mystery decisions and not enough positive results in spite.

He is 30 already !!!

How yuh mean already? He make his debut for de national team back in 2010 when he was 21.

That robbery/shooting shit was so f**ked up. He should should have spent the year rocking the MLS getting looks from European outfits. Things can still happen though.

We smashed a team a team 5-1 in the Mississauga league last night. Leslie assisted me for a goal. Let me tell you the man still have it.

I have a feeling that he'd play well with Joevin and Molino. From what i've seen of recent Cato, they may all work really well together in time. I certainly think his form warrants another chance.

Ya know, we can look at all the smoke, then we can see the fire... then we can see the entire TTFF staff with DJW standing closest to the fire holding a tank of gasoline and a pack of matches. We can listen to him justify how he didn't start the fire, that he was actually taking the tank of gasoline and matches from the others that did, in fact, start the fire. We can hear him out, give him the benefit of the doubt...

But are any of us that stupid? So far there's no outright proof and so much of the discussion is he said she said and numbers and figures that leave everything convoluted.

We can give him the benefit of the doubt, but we all know, whether willingly or unwillingly... like when daddy coming home late all the time... we know whats really going on.

The man is a f**king thief. He's helped a couple footballers out that i've known of, and i'm not sure how many he may have barred from progress, perhaps none. I personally doubt that, but maybe that's just me. I believe that the man knows that to thief well he must first build trust with the people he trying to tief from. I believe quite clearly with all of his decision making, flimsy excuse making and the constantly questions of where the f**k did all these different streams of revenue go to? Worst of all him going to the team to implore them to play a total waste of time game against a random low level African team who's FA is known for questionable movements, as question as us... well... ya know some shit goin down. I'm tired of the constant not adding up.

I'll say it again, the man is a f**king thief.

Cato need to find this form for Trinidad in bigger matches. I see him do a lot of the hard work and then he seems to lose conviction when in the finishing zone when he plays against bigger concacaf opponents. He's an excellent player. Still has loads of potential. I can only hope that he continues this form, gets that constant goal scoring in his blood heads back up to the MLS or elsewhere and goes where he should. He has so much pace and at times his touch is actually really clever. He could be a goal fiend if he just got his head on in the right way. I've been a particular fan of his for a while.

Come on Cordell, you're a champ keep at it.

I'll tell you what though, when he played that friendly against Mexico he did look good, I remember he pressed hard on a Mexican defender slid in won the ball clean in THEIR box (a mistake Mexican aren't frequently forced into friendly or not) and set up I think it was Cummings for an easy tap in.

I think he should still be considered, but certainly he'll need to really turn it around. It's not a high level of football and their are other tnt strikers that are looking better. I would honestly like to see Guerra in a second striker role in the next set up, but alas, who knows.

Mikeil put in a lovely cross for an assistant in his last game and he was part of some incisive build up leading to the winning goal. Good stuff from our boy. Molino obviously did well in his game and Joevin set up a sit for one of his strikers in his match. He look a little lethargic defending as a winger though.

It was a good goal, though it reminded me of that goal Lawrence scored against Panama, when he had a breakaway. I forget which year it was yes.

This game has me close to breaking down into tears, what did us fans do to deserve this BS, DJW and his demonic crew? We were once right there, throwing punches against Mexico giving teams a scare, now look at us. WTF Jed..WTFFF?!?!?

That was 2005 buddy, I remember losing my mind when he scored that goal at the Hasley. Stern John flicked him on and he just went with it, and cut back on the last defender who caught up to him for good measure.

At this point perhaps we should be grateful that we not making a second appearance this rounds. Comparing this team to the 2005 squad. Where's our Stern? I've aways been a fan of Hyland, but I don't think he's currently fulfilling Dwight's role. Lawrence may have been the most sus man in our defence in those times and yet, he was still fairly reliable. Bateau may be the only one who may compare and Cyrus when he's really on his game. Joevin not quite on Latas level though he is rising, but we had Latas as a super sub back in those days. Or rather he wasn't bound to start. Birchall wasn't the best, but he ran and fought whole game heart and soul and once in a while he had a really piercing pass or a wicked pipe at goal.

Our team playing the way it is now couldn't stand up against Sweden, England or Paraguay of 2006.

Hope there's still time to make a change, but some perspective isn't bad.

Also, too many of our players doh play with enough conviction. Williams had a nice little move there after some neat tight quarters passing by our side just to loft a useless ball to absolutely no one with something that wasn't a full blown cross, wasn't a scoop but some rubbish in between. And right before he beat past a man with a simple messi like beat, and then what? For what? After all that good work? You don't want to create a real goal scoring chance or ya just figure you do something decent by surprise and if you do shit after this then no biggie? Where's the believe and determination?

Honestly, I only just get d chance to tune in. I am guessing that number 15 is Curtis. That man is such shit, I knew we was in trouble from the time that he made the national squad. Bad sign, good player in terms of pro league but he could never cut it internationally, not without major improvement. I honestly knew it had to be him. If it's not then i'm sorely mistaken, but I'm willing to bet it is.
