That video is tactless and distasteful and does not give any respect to the man's family. Just imagine his wife and children having to see that.

Why is JW not being investigated by the government??

I do not understand why a government minister is inovolved in so many corrupted issues and the government turns a blind eye.

Is the government keeping an eye how he is using taxpayer $$??? Seeing that he is mention in high profile corruptions.

The man was seen on video offering bribes what does our gov't do? reward him to stay on as a minister!

Did TnT not learned, from all the corroupted ministers we had int he past?? Lawd only in TnT!
The man financed this government's election campaign so they are not going to go after him unless their back is up against a wall. Only when he becomes an extreme liability then they will get him..right now he's just a nuisance.

Football / Re: "Kelvin Jack rebukes Eve and Corneal's comments."
« on: February 28, 2012, 03:12:02 PM »
This is exactly why Corneal cannot be Technical Director as he has no right commenting on this. He is an 'employee' of the TTFF who was hired to overseer all matters of football development and he has thereby biased himself against these players or players who support them.

Good going Brownsugar! It bothers me too that we have so many conmen trying to emasculate themselves as upright citizens and doing so much harm to the society in the process! Some eroding the very democracy they have sworn on oath to uphold! What they don't seem to understand is that  the society we have now is very different from even 20 years ago and they are not fooling anyone! It is time for them to come  clean! We cannot continue like this  much longer as we are on the brink , just like Gibbs!

The cadre of people that currently hold office swore no oath to uphold democracy.  Rather, they have sworn oath to uphold the constitution of Trinidad and Tobago to which they actively seek to rewrite and form into their fashion.

Bias much...............there is no way you using that pack ah arse you talk dey to try explain this. Shoulda try tell me teacher I not familiar with WWII since I had to depend on what I read.

Don't worry about the PNM...things are in the works...you don't rush out and make statements without first conceiving a plan and you especially don't do it during carnival season. Remember Rowley was the one who drew jack's ire when he said that jack can't have two masters FiFA and the pp.
Also, if they are to make pronouncements then it would be along the lines of the ethical considerations of sitting MP's and what rules of law apply to them and then show cause as to how jack has violated these laws.

Keep the pressure on Liburd.
It must feel strange when you're the only (or one of very few) journalist (s)  doing proper investigative reporting and willing to ask the hard questions. I only hope you don't get sacrificed by these evil people.

Talk is cheap. Only people with genuine backbone and heart are willing to stand by their word.

Remember that it was this government that want to license journalists. Do you remember what happened to the journalist from Newsday and how the pp went after him?

I can say with certainty that we've now added the Banana before the Republic of TnT

Can any local-based attend? I am unable to:-

Veteran Footballers Foundation of Trinidad and Tobago
VFFOTT Forum 2
Thursday 23rd February 2012
Butcher’s Sports Plex, Barataria, 10.00am
GUEST SPEAKER: Brendon Batson, MBE
Secretary of the Professional Football Association of the United Kingdom
Brendon Batson was born in St. George's, Grenada and became one of the pioneer black football players in England.
His professional career began at Arsenal and went on to Cambridge United. However, it was at West Bromwich Albion that he made his mark on football, at a time when black players were subjected to extreme racism from football fans.
He was first signed as a semi professional player with Preston North End in 1886, as goalkeeper. His highpoint with Preston was to make it to the FA Cup semi finals in 1887 where they lost 3-1 to West Bromwich Albion. There was speculation at the time that Arthur was good enough to play for England, but he was never considered for the position by the FA, due in part to the racial prejudice of the time.
Along with his team-mates Cyrille Regis and the late Laurie Cunningham, he became a key figure at West Bromwich Albion in the late 1970s and early 1980s as members of The Three Degrees. After retiring from football following a terrible injury in October 1982, he established himself as one of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) senior administrators, rising to the position of deputy chief executive, responsible for developing the organization into one of the most important trade unions.
In 2000 he was awarded the MBE for services to football, and in 2002 he became Managing Director of West Bromwich Albion, his old team.

May I have two bottles of what he is drinking? The man had a career that span 100 years

Now what would the Prime Minister do...clearly she has to call on the Deputy Prime Minister, Member of Parliament and Minister of Works, Mr. Austin 'Jack' Warner to clear himself of these allegations as they directly affect the image of this Gov't and impedes the Minister from functioning effectively.

Well the Tsunami reach...look ting

..."Keep black people out of this?" That is a puerile reading of my comment. Why do you think the administration of FIFA (and for that matter, CONCACAF) are almost lily white? Of course black people aren't all corrupt. And I follow international developments - in and out of football - just like you so I don't need a condescending lecture about what is happening elsewhere. You talk from your ivory tower because you never had to face the dripping contempt from the international football hierarchy every day. Ask anyone who does. The attitude IS that black people can't do anything right...We have been independent for 50 years and still need Gibbs, FIFA, etc?...Shame...

and thereby is the scourge of colonialism........

There are ONLY 2 questions that need to be asked....
1. Did you receive $250k from FIFA for Haiti? Yes or No
2. Did you wire/send/give/transfer the entire amount to Haiti Yes or No

It's that simple

What is misleading about his headlines? the TTFF must either do one or the other.. ask jack for the accounts and he might might tell themm go go go ask dey mudder or the TTFF can face contempt of court charges. The question is, would they go to jail for Jack?
Stop being so emotional ...... Rampersad has to proceed with caution as jack is a sitting member of Parliament.
We know who teef de money and we could say that with a fair measure of certainty we just cyah prove it.

padnah me eh takin potshots....as ah say de yute have some talent and a lot of times over the summer ah man might say he needs a player like him and give him a couple hundred dollars a game .... a lot of people do that...what I'm calling into question is that if he did indeed do that what was the status of the club/s he played for as a lot of the men who run these teams declare them as semi-pro.

Football / Re: Pro league blocks Roopie.
« on: February 11, 2012, 09:43:12 AM »
I think it is unfair to compare Theobald's situation to this because no one knows the details of the contract. So while it may seem that he played for Caledonia after Ujpest it comes down to details in that contact that sent him to Upjest.
The difference with Roopie is that he is the only one who knows whether or not his status is amateur or pro and it should be easy for him to provide and verify details of the last team he played for.
I strongly suspect that he may have played some mercenary ball and that is where the issue lies.

You ent read the story or what... Theobald had a contract, true we don't know the details, but he was under contract.  Roopie never was... he just trained with clubs... not even pro teams.  You saying he alone should know his pro/amateur status.  The man flat out say he never sign a contract... therefore he's an amateur.

Read the line ah highlight...I think dais where the problem is....some of these clubs he may or may not have played with, can be labeled semi-pro and if he were on the roster of one of them teams then they have to release him. In his mind he might be saying well I never sign any contract so I'm still an amateur which might be true. I strongly suspect we not getting de full story,
