« on: August 16, 2017, 11:14:30 AM »
Kirk Trotman was Mickey Trotman't brother? I not sure if there was any other Trotmans who made the cut.

As we talking Arima players, Craig Demmin and Dwayne Demmin also played. Tallman will know better if they were ever on the field at the same time.

Yup...that post by Errol is absolutely correct in terms of expected points.
It will come down to us being able to turn the predicted draw against the US at home, into a win in order to reach 4th.

Yeah boy...best header of the ball in the region and we can't get in crosses. Really don't make sense. Hyland ball wasn't even a cross.

I wonder if he will abandon the programme after all the progress with the Arima Bourough Council and sponsors, or if Mahabir will retain ownership in only name while Fenwick run things behind the scenes

Football / Re: Is 13 points enough?
« on: June 12, 2017, 08:35:47 AM »
Yeah 13 should be enough but a lot depends on the outcome of the Honduras vs Panama game.

However, where we getting those points from? The only points we realistically supposed to get is Honduras at home and a draw vs Panama away or USA at home. Neither really guaranteed but statistically we likely to get at least one point from one of those games.

Costa Rica away and Mexico away we should accept that anything other than licks is a miracle.

Panama away...the players have to show their worth and earn that one.

USA at home...the states hadda really not care. Bruce Arena has our number and the states have strength in depth. Even the B side or C side will be men who trying to earn a spot to Russia and out to impress and run us to the ground before scoring from a set piece or defensive lapse. Aside from Pulisic, very little to separate the next 40 men they could call on.

From the article above:

Quote
Today, the iconic Arima Velodrome will welcome Pro League football for the first time in the current era when North East Stars, headed by coach Derek King, host point Fortin Civic from 7pm.

So what happened to de fella named Terrence William Fenwick?

Fenwick is the owner/director...he probably too busy setting up the club structure in the short term re sponsors and staff etc. to concentrate on onfield matters. That's smart of him to not try to be everything if he wants this to work.

Everyone will be now able to have their branding.” Skeene said potential partners are buying into the movement back to community football that was started successfully last season. Continuing the model of teams playing on community grounds, North East Stars will be playing home matches at the Arima Velodrome, St Ann's Rangers at St Augustine Secondary, San Juan Jabloteh at the Barataria Oval and Point Fortin Civic at the Mahaica Oval.

First, I don't understand why St. Anns Rangers and San Juan Jabloteh can't get President's Grounds or Bourg grounds, or the Brian Lara Recreations grounds for their home games respectively. They all owned by the San Juan Laventille Corporation just like Cale grounds in Morvant and the Barataria Oval.

But if you can't get those grounds...why not just be named Rangers and Jabloteh temporarily instead of being identified with a place you not from? Nobody from Barataria backing a San Juan side, far less the community of St. Augustine coming out to see a St. Ann's team.

I think the illness was a shock to her as well. She would only have found out that day when she spoke to Brown Sugar so one month is all it took. She only asked for prayers. I don't think anyone knew it would have been so soon. At least we can hold solace in thinking the suffering would have been relatively short.

RIP Weary...you were a true Warrior and one of the most vibrant cogs in the Warrior Nation movement.

We will always remember you when we think of the magic of 2006.

We will feel your spirit move us when we hear the warrior chant.

« on: April 15, 2016, 07:23:25 AM »
I'll beleve it when I see it. This still dependent on TTFA submitting requests on time.

To me, it is kind of hard for the Ministry or SPorTT to give a broad committment to cover flights and accommodation. Won't that be dependent on number of the party travelling, plus number of international friendlies? That committment should have a ceiling an "up to" a certain amount because the Min or Sportt can't just find money from thin air when time come. Another sport would suffer.

I in Tobago...any word on if the game showing on Tobago cable later?

I think DJW had this in his campaign manifesto. Along with plans to have year round youth age teams as well. Maybe he looking for money to start the ideas, or maybe he was just talking to get votes

46
I not sure if pro league teams deserve any more money. They already getting from the government and the PFL is a private league. Correct me if I am wrong but I don't think cricket teams and track teams get money from Sportt...just the governing body who then distributes if they choose so I don't think it fair to compare this situation to the EAP at all.

In fact, Hart recently questioned how we could be paying salaries of PFL teams yet have our national team suffering for wages? What sense that really make? Plus, I have no doubt that football already gets the most money from the government.

PFL clubs need to learn to survive on their own. If we cant have a professional league because of finances and mismanagement, let the chips fall where they may and stick with amateur football. Maybe the government could just invest in a local based academy or something instead.

Just from a nineties perspective: no offence to Shawn David but I think it had bigger Malick legends like Marvin Gordon, Irasto Knights, Scotland, Westfields...

I think Kevin Jeffrey or Kester Cornwall could be there if Webb make it. And definitely Hector Sam. Maybe even Marco Elcock, didn't he break the record for most goals in a season?

Larry Loobie seemed to the best keeper in the league for umpteen years too moreso than some of the other keepers named who were big on the national stage but not on the schoolboy stage.

I exepeted more professionalism from DJW. Apparently Waldrum wasn't really fired. He was told to coach for the qualifiers then that is is. He say he can't agree to that cause of the 4 year plan and the conversations were to continue but DJW jus replace the whole technical staff instead of conversing.

Also, he meet with the players after brazil but didn't meet with the coaches for post mortem.

Just sounds very unprofessional. I expected at least a professional approach to things.

Hart said he was disappointed in the performance because the majority of the camp was spent on attacking cohesion and the team did not show it on the field. I not blaming him for that.

I did notice however,a few times where there were only four defenders against the haitian attack. I thought that was something we had overcome.

I wonder if th TTFA has all these funding requirements submitted to the new regime or everybody just going to the media first.

54
So if he back in March after pre-season, should we include him for the St. Vincent games which should (theoretically) be an easier way to integrate him back into international football or leave him to find some form with Orlando before he resumes his national career?

55
I feel the timing is cause men need their money for the christmas. Hadda buy presents for the kids (and the WAGs) and groceries etc. Specifically the local based.

I think this is more a strategic move to put pressure on the TTFA with enough time for things to be resolved before the January game.

Harsh on the President so soon into his reign but at the end of the day, Latas and them should really hadda wait if the players being owed money as they are the ones who "selling the product" currently and would be the key to any future revenue coming in and as such are the most valuable commodity and should be treated as such. Both the male and female teams.

It have a few men on the side who play for Connection though so they would have history in terms of John-Williams and his treatment of players.I think that would have an impact on discussions and if the team willing to trust that he is working on it if he has to wait for a cabinet note or the kpmg accounts that he demanded be completed immediately.

Bateau for me...He really came in and claim that starting role in the defence. When last we weren't always nervous when the other team attacking? Right before Bateau became a regular

I knew Selby from the Malvern days, A decent lad with football on his mind and ideas to take us forward.
Well we are taking about T&T  and the politics always play a major part in funding and sponsorship.
With PNM in power and the Minister of Sports  and TimKee in the same bed , it follows that the best bet would be to put back Mr Timkee.
Having said that , if the new executives are not going with Cap  in hand to beg the Govt and have plans to raise Funds and gain sponsorship , then Selby is the best of the lot.
If the truth be told is mere exchange with the others. This election is crucial with World cup Qualifiers both with the men and women. We owe it to the players to get it right this time.

I agree with this post. Watching the options from the outside he looking like the only one who i really seeing as there for the sport first as opposed to self. He might not be the man to take us to the future but I think he is the best bet to restore confidence in the TTFA for corporate Trinidad to invest and get the organisation running properly. John Williams is a business man and I know ppl figure he in it for money. Ironically, the Referees dont have enough respect within the game to command the organisation and well Tim Kee is tainted.

But I not voting and most people who are tend to look for what the person in charge will do for them as opposed to what is best for all so it  will go to whoever promise the most
