Football / Re: Thread for the T&T vs USA Game (17-Nov-2015)
« on: November 16, 2015, 10:31:43 AM »
after watching this game for the third time i must admit that it was the worst performance i have seen since coach hart took over management of the senior team, and we was very fortunate to come away with a win. the back line was extremely wayward and gave away the ball a little too much and from being under very little pressure at that. we cannot play the untied states in this shakey manner because we will be punished.

Hmm...despite the fact that you made some good points in your analysis, I just have to ask if you only start watching the team in the Gold Cup? Every game in the caribbean cup was worse than this, not to mention the Jordan game and a few Panama friendlies.

Any rumours on what problem they had with Sharon O'Brien inthe past? Sounds like a personal thing going on there with these players and her

He play secondary school ball? 50 goals in less than 3 seasons is really kind of amazing. Do we have other college based strikers with those kinds of numbers? Tallman...whey yuh?

1. He played for Trinity East

2. Joel Bailey scored 92 goals during his time at Wheeling Jesuit University. In the 2000 season he scored 36.
You had to look it up or you knew it offhand?

What we really need are wing backs tho.

Carlos Edwards made a successful transition.  Wonder if Cato can do similar?  He's already played that role for San Jose.

Can't think of anyone other than Joevin Jones on the other side of the field.  Joevin is gifted offensively but lacking defensively.

You no like Cyrus attacking ability? Williams not bad on the other side as well as Joevin. Plus Joevin youunger brother, Alvin is good going forward as well. I am impressed with our defensive options...for the first time since Marvelous Marvin, Brian Williams and them boys.

Nathan Regis is my neighbour from Trinidad.

Watch this youth, he playing for Pfeiffer University.

He eh know big dribbler but he could shoot, reminds me of Stern John in his MLS days.

He use to play ball with we when he was 13/14?? and use to handle he stories.

I eh see him play since he left T&T but if he continue he go be tops.

The Sunshine usually speaks the truth, man. They just don't have the proof to take it to court...but how many of the allegations against the UNC leading up to elections have resulted in actual law suits ?

In other words, its good enough for us on this site to have a conversation and get more info on it but it is not good enough for the police to charge anybody. Nothing wrong with posting that type of stuff on a talk forum.

The FIFA website link saying the 12th and the 14th. Anyone knows if the games were changed to the 13th and 15th or have they now been changed to the 12th and 14th?

So Premier Division now has Naps, Pres, Benedicts, Shiva, Fyzo and Pleasantville from south and QRC, CIC, Fatima, Trinity, Mucurapo and St. Anthony's from town.

Outside of Signal Hill and Gustine who are proven big sides over the years too...I think them other zones need to check themselves quick cause I seeing Malick and Princes Town probably regrouping and will make this thing turn into a two zone league just now.

Well he try Cummings on the right and encourage him to cut in to the left and then as a supporting striker to KJ in both the friendlies, but it didn't work.
Only way I seeing both Molino and Cummings on the field is if we playing with two #10 either side of Kenwyne, 2 def mid and the wing backs providing width.

That is if Molino comes back as good as he was before the injury.

If they both at Orlando though, hopefully they solve that problem up there for us (how to accommodate both).

What it means though is that Guerra basically done at the international level.

Grest news. Recovering at a good rate, I must say. Thanks to the Almighty. Keep it up Kevin.
Imagine having Cummings and Molino!!! Daiz takin' things to a dangerous level.

You talking about Orlando or T&T having both?

Touches can you rate the players including the subs?

I heard Andrews looked a good deal?

Andrews brought energy and did his chances no harm. He play little greedy on some occasions but he was playing for a spot so I could understand that.

Ceasar on the other hand was trying too hard and had a bad night, poor passes, losing ball, running into cul de sacs. He did pull off the beat of the night that Touches mention though. Both he and Joevin were playing as midfielders rather than outside forwards so that affected their ability to create or get involved in the attack as much as we would have wanted as Hart tried the 2 fwds again in this game.

Joevin did better when Hart changed the system and moved Hyland forward to support the striker with Boucaud and Kevan George behind him.

Boucaud changed the game. He brought leadership, distribution, composure and drive when he came on. He was real quarelling with all the players for any sloppiness.

I think Bakr and Bateau is first choice CB pairing, not that Marshall do anything wrong but those two have a calm, commanding presence...and a definite threat at set pieces, moreso than Andrews and Lawrence did based on stats already.

Williams seems to be first choice LB. David looked solid back up but not the same going forward.
Cyrus was solid but didn't have much in front of him

Kenwyne did his job. Glenn looked like we not losing much when Kenwyne not there.

Cummings had his worst game in national colours as the coach tried him as a forward for Jones to knock the ball onto. Does not seem like his type of role. Hart should have tried Plaza alongside Jones if he wanted to test the 4-4-2 sometime in the two games, I think.

Jan Michael looked miles better than Marvin Phillips in terms of how the defence looked and distribution as he didn't have much to do. Also, if we counting clean-sheets...Jan Michael has been in the goal for all of the recent ones.

I eh no Touches but I hope you doh mind mih little insights

Infront of them were the new fans that seem to be paid to create an atmosphere. So there was the new "superfan" mascot with the TT flag draped on him like a cape and this group actually had chants and songs going on. I kid you not...but you could tell it was scripted, the words, the ole...but they try. It's just nobody ent take them on and after a while they got tired and quiet down.

I just assumed that was people from this forum yes...

Happy to see that good sense has prevailed in the form of three points for QRC.

To be honest, I am a bit surprised. In the past I have seen games of this kind played over multiple times. But I guess the times are different. But my alma mater is in the middle. Not bad, but not good enough. 2 wins out of the 4 draws, and we would be in the running. But it is still first rounds.

Only one rounds being played.

The Fyzabad game was awarded because the fight didn't really stop the game. Ref had everything under control, issued red cards, players left the field with no fuss...but the Fyzabad team refuse to restart the game.

I don't know. I've been hearing that about the league since probably the year 2000. But then you look at the quality of men like Joevin Jones, Khaleem Hyland, Kevin Molino, Shahdon Winchester, Levi Garcia who lleft recently and most of St. Anthony's teams since then. To me, every generation makes that comment about the one after them.

I remember there was an uproar after the 1989 campaign when the football jersey no longer had the national flag on it. I cant remember if it was just Gally or others as well.

It was then revealed that we are not legally supposed to have the national flag on such things.

Yes, I know i sounding old

Lester Peltier tweet something about a transfer in two weeks. Anybody heard about that?

If you asked me, Hart messed up a little in this game.

You have a squad of 23 players who are not all 100% fit.

He didn't have to play 9 tired players in this game.

Hyland, Cato, Jovein and George should have been rested.

Boucaud, Glenn, Winchester and Marshall (in George place) should have started.

I never really heard of managers "rotating" in a must win game. Usually you play your strongest team
