Whatever fool

Latapy should not be advertizing that he smokes 8-10 cigrettes a day.

It was a stupid thing to say especially for an Athelete.

Everyone knows than smoking will decrease the lung capacity and physical endurance of people that play sport.

SO for him to smoke and further advertize smoking is a very stupid thing to do.

that statement alone makes him an idiot.

In this world Image is everything especially in sport.

Latapy and them does always have to show their Trini Stupidity.

Joke is joke and Kicks is Kicks but to say in a Trini ariticle that he smooking only 8-10 cigrettes a day is real nonsense.

What kind of message is that to send to young and coming aspiring footballers.

If you want to smoke that is your business but no need to promote it in public.

That is the same kind of attitude that result in his and yorke drinking incidents in the past.

The level of supidity in these men does sometime amaze me.

Every Body will Play hard
But for us we have the best chance as Panama is the weakest of the bunch so with fight and desire we should beat them. But we must finsish we chances.

Guatemala getting licks in Mexico. Mexico public will ensure that.

America game will be close but given the fact that the big names are not there it may end in a draw or a CR win.

America will play at their consistant level but how CR play is the key. They can go from Very Good to Very Bad

What even happen I think it will be very interesting over the next week.

They have changed the college system it is called MLS Top youth players go to MLS rather than college now.

All they need now is some big money sponsors for big money contracts and the kids will keep trying to make it to the top.

I think it should because you are clearly obstructing a man you is in a good goal scoring position.

if it was downgraded to a yellow almost everytime a man was breaking away to score a defender would pull him back.

Man will trade a one on one for penalty

but a one on one for a sending off and a penalty will stop man from holding you back in the first place

too much small goal might be one effect as man dont shoot.

you have to shoot to score goals.

ALso you have to remember when team brings in foreign players they always go and get forwards because goals is the thing.

As a result TnT forwards might not be getting much sweat as tems bring in top forwards from the other islands.

ANd the same way most of our Top forwards tend to ride out to foreign.

So maybe the issue is not producing top forwards but rather keeping them in the PFL league

They should have called Johnson to the squad even though he is a right back and not getting no sweat in Chelsea he is still a good player and could fill in good as a left back.

If I was Erickson

I would play Campbell, Rio , King and Terry across they back
Cambell fast enough to play right back and Kind versatile enough to play left back.
They will loose attacking overlapping play but that Defense go be real solid
That is there 4 best players any way in defense.

U.S. bypasses many regulars for trip to Costa Rica

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - With a World Cup berth clinched, U.S. coach Bruce Arena bypassed many of his top players for Saturday's qualifier at Costa Rica.
Seven European-based players were called in: Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard; midfielders DaMarcus Beasley (PSV Eindhoven) and Bobby Convey (Reading); and defenders Eddie Lewis (Leeds), Oguchi Onyewu (Standard Liege), Carlos Bocanegra (Fulham) and Jonathan Spector (Charlton Athletic).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Among the missing are forwards Landon Donovan and Brian McBride, midfielder Claudio Reyna and goalkeeper Kasey Keller.

"Looking at this pool of players and still being competitive, our objective is still to win," Arena said Monday.

Howard has not played for the national team since Sept. 4 last year, a 2-0 win over El Salvador in the semifinal round of qualifying.

The United States qualified for its fifth straight World Cup with a 2-0 win over Mexico on Sept. 3, then let many of its European-based players return to their clubs rather than make the trip to Guatemala for another qualifier on Sept. 7, which ended in a 0-0 tie.

"Obviously our main goal has been accomplished," Arena said. "However, the last two games in this round are extremely important, not only from a competitive aspect, but also in evaluating players."

The game will still hold meaning for Costa Rica, which is third in the qualifying group and needs two points in its remaining two matches to secure the region's third World Cup berth.

"Although the result might not be as important as it is for Costa Rica, it's a big game for a lot of players and a big game for the U.S.," Lewis said.

Arena will make changes in the roster for the final qualifier, against Panama on Oct. 12 at Foxborough, Mass.

The roster for the Costa Rica game:

Goalkeepers: Kevin Hartman (Los Angeles), Tim Howard (Manchester United, England)

Defenders: Chris Albright (Los Angeles), Wade Barrett (San Jose), Carlos Bocanegra (Fulham, England), Dan Califf (San Jose), Eddie Lewis (Leeds, England), Oguchi Onyewu (Standard Liege, Belgium), Eddie Pope (Salt Lake), Jonathan Spector (Charlton Athletic, England)

Midfielders: DaMarcus Beasley (PSV Eindhoven, Netherlands), Ricardo Clark (San Jose), Bobby Convey (Reading, England), Kyle Martino (Columbus), Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado)

Forwards: Brian Ching (San Jose), Santino Quaranta, (D.C.), Taylor Twellman (New England)

I did not see any of the Gold Cup games so I am not sure if it is the same man, But the Man you I see saving for them in WCQ is weak like hell. Yes he might be able to make a diving save but for the most part he leaving goals left and right. Being able to fly does not make you a good keeper.

First thing Panama cannot finish above us in the standings becuase even if they beat us they will loose away versus the US .

Anybody who think the Panama Keeper is good obviously does not know anything about football

The man is a disaster, at least the one that keep versus the mexico match last time around.

If he saving we will destroy them.

The man is 6 foot and weighs about 90 lbs
He cannot even stop a Roti paper shot.

I not disrespecting Panama I just stating the obvious.

If Brazil was wating into a game against the likes of Columbia, Chile or Venezuela you think they would be talking about 1-0

Is 5-0 blow out they have to get.

We getting ready to make a world cup
Panama have to get at least 6, we hit them 6 just 4 years ago in the Oval.

Have some faith in the squad

Panama is real shit and they have real licks to get

America hit them 6 and Mexico hit the 5
Home or away does not matter

They have real licks to get at this stage.

As VB say
Pound Panama Poonanny!

At least 3-0

Panama aint have no pride to play for because they already come last and it aint have no pride in that.

they foreign based with contracts not bothering to come back and they will hardly be any fans in the stands.

Good for us TnT usually does not draw a crowd.

As long as we go out there with the desperation and drive which we will have we will blow them out.

The only thing could save Pananma is if Stern throw away goals like peas because once he puting it will be all out.

Panama keeper is real shit
He weak on cross balls and he is fundamentally flawed.

The only people to beat us in this game is ourselves.

Once we score at least 1 goal in the first 20 mins game done.

But if we give them life then the game will get harder.

Tight in the back and Attack with full force.

6-0

we need to boost our goal difference!

Big dog scoring at least 2 headers in this game and Yorke need to score as well
I cant remember the last time yorke score for TnT.

Time for him to step up amd lead from the front.

Touches if they could not beat Guatemala away what makes you so sure they can beat Costa Rica at home.
Costa Rica at home is a dominant squad, Historically speaking they destroy the US at home.

Reyna
Donanvan
Mc Bride
Johnson

all missing this is a B squad

A big win by Costa Rica and Guatemala last home game gets infinitely easier.

If the loose to america at Home the Coach will be under pressure to beat Guatemala for fear of loosing his Job due to poor results.

Arena Names 18-Man Roster In Advance of Oct. 8 Qualifier in Costa Rica

 10/3/05 11:03 AM

 Matchday 9 of Final Round Qualifying Kicks Off at 7 p.m. MT in San Jose;
Match to Be Broadcast on a One-Hour Delay on ESPN2 Beginning at 10 p.m. ET;
Fans Can Follow Live on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker
MIAMI (October 3, 2005) — U.S. Men’s National Team Manager Bruce Arena has selected 18 players to prepare for the penultimate World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica on Saturday, October 8 in San Jose, Costa Rica. Kickoff at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa is set for 7 p.m. MT (9 p.m. ET), and the match will be broadcast on a one-hour tape delay on ESPN2 at 10 p.m. ET. Fans can follow the match live on ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker, presented by Philips, beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

The U.S. sits in first place in the final round hexagonal with a 6-1-1 record, becoming the first team in CONCACAF to qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup after defeating Mexico 2-0 on Sept. 3 in Columbus, Ohio. Costa Rica, currently in third place and five points ahead of Guatemala, can secure their place in the World Cup with a victory against the United States. (For a complete look at 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying in the CONCACAF region, visit the competitions page at ussoccer.com.)

"Obviously our main goal has been accomplished, which was qualifying for the 2006 World Cup," said Arena, who saw the U.S. qualify first from their region for the first time in 71 years. "However, the last two games in this round are extremely important, not only from a competitive aspect, but also in evaluating players as we look towards the vital preparations for the 2006 World Cup."

Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard will make his first appearance for the United States in the final round hexagonal, as well as his first for the team in 2005. The 2003 English Premier League Goalkeeper of the Year has one qualifying cap to his credit, earning his fifth career shutout for the MNT in the 2-0 win against El Salvador on Sept. 4, 2004, in Foxboro, Mass.

The roster features four starters from the USA’s last meeting against Costa Rica, a 3-0 U.S. win on June 4 in Salt Lake City, Utah, led by PSV Eindhoven midfielder DaMarcus Beasley. The 22-year old is the leading capwinner in 2006 qualifying on the roster, having started 12 matches and scoring four goals. He continues to add to his career-best scoring tally in a single year with the full team, having recorded four goals and four assists. Veteran defender Eddie Pope returns to the U.S. fold after missing the last three qualifiers, and with 72 appearances to his credit, ranks as the USA’s most experienced player in the squad. Carlos Bocanegra and Bobby Convey have both become regulars for the first XI at Fulham and Reading, respectively.

Two other veterans called into the match are defender Oguchi Onyewu of Standard de Liege in Belgium and midfielder Pablo Mastroeni of the Colorado Rapids. Surprisingly, Onyewu will be looking for just his 11th all-time cap this weekend following his sparkling performance in the team's victory over Mexico last month. Mastroeni has 42 caps to his credit and wore the captain's armband for the U.S. in their goalless draw in Guatemala on Sept. 7.

The U.S. roster boasts Major League Soccer’s leading marksman in striker Taylor Twellman, whose 16 goals top the MLS scoring table. The San Jose Earthquakes contribute the largest contingent, sending four players to Miami.  Brian Ching is back in the squad, already with four qualifying appearances under his belt and two goals, including the game-tying finish in the 89th minute of the 1-1 draw against Jamaica on Aug. 18, 2004. Defenders Wade Barrett and Danny Califf also make their return, while Ricardo Clark is the only player on the U.S. roster yet to receive his first cap with the full team.

The U.S. has a lifetime record of 11-9-4 against Costa Rica, but has never won on the road and holds a 0-5-1 record in six qualifying appearances in Costa Rica. In their last 10 meetings, the U.S. holds a 6-3-1 advantage against the Ticos, with all six wins coming in the U.S. and all three losses coming in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The U.S. team began training Monday morning in Miami. After the Costa Rica match on Oct. 8, the team will depart directly for Boston in advance of their final World Cup qualifier against Panama (tickets). That match takes place Wednesday, October 12 in Foxboro, Mass. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

Chances are we will end up with a significantly negative goal difference if things continue and we are able to squeak into the world cup,

Given the fact that we take in more goals than we give out should we be in the World Cup.

Has a team with a negative goal difference ever made the world cup, Tallman dig up the facts are we on the road to make history,

This might be an interesting statistic.

Govt really cannot support these grounds.

It is up to the Govt to allocate the grounds to strong Club's who will maintain their own grounds.

Govt must develop a more managerial role than a doing role.

There is too much to do it must be allocated.

The key is how can the Govt smartly allocate.

It all comes down to money so tax breaks will have to come in.

We need strong community clubs willing to maintain their own grounds with the Govt providing a way for said clubs to get sponsorship or allocating the Land to the clubs so they have a financial stake in the grounds.
Land is a powerful thing and costly as well By owning land clubs may be able to leverage land equity loans etc to get money to run the club.

We need to think outside the box

Ideas is what we need

Drama on the final day
30 September 2005
by FIFAworldcup.com

If playing in a FIFA World Cup™ finals remains the ultimate experience for any footballer, then the process of getting there brings its own unique pressure.
The high stakes ensure no shortage of shredded nerves as the qualifying competition concludes and the final verdict could not be starker: a black-and-white picture of joy and pain. As the last matches in Germany 2006 qualifying approach, FIFAworldcup.com recalls past dramas on the road to world football's greatest showpiece.

Four years ago David Beckham may have been loved by Manchester United fans but it was not until England's closing qualifier for Korea/Japan that he became a national hero. England had beaten Germany 5-1 in Munich a month earlier but now they trailed Greece 2-1 at Old Trafford and appeared destined for the play-offs. Deep into injury time, however, they won a free-kick on the edge of the Greek penalty area. Beckham stepped up coolly to curl the ball home and England's place in the Far East was secure.

French nightmare
If English fans recall fondly that late flourish then across La Manche, the French still have nightmares about the night of 17 November 1993. Needing a solitary point from home matches against Israel and Bulgaria, France looked certain qualifiers for USA 94 but a 3-2 loss to Israel set nerves on edge.

Then Bulgaria came to the Parc des Princes: Gerard Houllier's side took the lead through Eric Cantona but Emil Kostadinov equalised and in injury time the same player got on to the end of a Bulgarian breakaway to smash in a shot off the underside of the crossbar. While Bulgaria went on to reach the semi-finals in the States, back in France, the international career of David Ginola, who had lost possession in the build-up to Kostadinov's winning goal, never truly recovered.
Paris was not the only European city that witnessed some telling drama that night in 1993. In Seville, Spain lost goalkeeper Andoni Zubizarreta to a red card just ten minutes into their must-win match against Denmark. His replacement was an untried 23-year-old called Santiago Canizares. The future Valencia keeper rose to the occasion, however, making a succession of superb saves as Fernando Hierro's header sent Spain to the US - and left European champions Denmark reflecting on a second successive last-day disappointment.

While Spain celebrated it was an unhappy night for neighbours Portugal as their hopes died with a 1-0 defeat by Italy in Milan, Dino Baggio scoring the late winner before Fernando Couto was sent off as Portuguese frustrations boiled over. Wales supporters, meanwhile, will never forget Paul Bodin's missed penalty in their decisive home match against Romania. With the game in the balance at 1-1, Bodin rattled the crossbar and instead it was the Romanians who found a second goal. Romania proceeded to the quarter-finals in the States while the Welsh wait for a first finals appearance since 1958 continues.

It was against Wales four years earlier that Germany secured their passage to an Italia 90 tournament they would go on to win. It was an uncomfortable evening in Cologne, however, as the Germans fell behind before Rudi Voller and Thomas Hassler secured the victory Franz Beckenbauer's men needed to qualify as one of the best second-placed teams. Of course, the Germans were not the first side to win the FIFA World Cup after scraping into the finals - Argentina had done the same four years earlier.

Argentina leave it late
Diego Maradona would have never illuminated Mexico 86 had it not been for a late goal by Argentina substitute Ricardo Gareca in the Albicelestes' 2-2 draw with Mexico on 30 June 1985 in Buenos Aires. Carlos Bilardo's side needed to avoid defeat to pip Peru to first place in their group – and avoid a repeat of their elimination by the Peruvians prior to the 1970 finals - but were 2-1 down with ten minutes remaining. However, Daniel Pasarella then shot against a post and Gareca turned in the rebound and Argentina were on their way to Mexico.

It is the hard-luck stories that seem to stick in the memory longest, however. Japan famously lost out on a place at USA 94 after conceding an injury-time equaliser to Iraq in a match remembered on the archipelago as the 'Tragedy in Doha'. The 2-2 draw in Qatar meant the Japanese, who had then yet to reach a FIFA World Cup, missed out on goal difference to arch-rivals Korea Republic.

Of course the Japanese have since reached three successive FIFA World Cup finals but you wonder whether Trinidad and Tobago will ever get another chance after coming so close in 1989. Curiously they played the very first qualifier for Italia 90 – a 4-0 win against Guyana on 17 April 1988 – and also the last, against the US 20 months later. The small Caribbean country needed just a draw in Port of Spain to qualify for Italy but went down 1-0 to a goal from the USA's Paul Caligiuri. The Americans had their first finals place in 40 years and have not looked back since. As for T&T, the long wait goes on.

Marquez and Borgetti are the only 2 but they are the Key 2

Borgetti scores all of their goals and Rafa Stops most of the other teams attacks and links with the forwards.

Without Borgetti up front goals will be scare against Guate Guate as them other men does real throw way when they ready.

No foreign based selected.

Hopefully we can take them at home but they will remain strong enough to beat Guatemala.

Double edge sword we put ourself in.
