Football / Re: Is Latapy a Big Game player?
« on: December 06, 2005, 01:04:38 AM »
Latas is definitely a big game player. De big difference is Latas was never a physical specimen capable of fightin through or outrunning double teams or manhandling, so when men hustle him, double team him, and generally try to keep him out de game, he needs teammates to step up and punish teams. Bahrain didn't pay de other men no mind cause dey know is only stern does score and with no service stern does just lime. When dey pressure Latas as soon as he get de ball is only whitley does really play aggressive and take advantage of de extra space dat giving him. Not saying de other men really play shit, but nothing to worry de bahrainis enough to disrupt dey game plan. Same thing happen to him nov 19.  Guatemala, mexico and dem team give de boss time to play and he mash dem up. Allyuh really feel Trini play better with Latas on de bench in Bahrain? We might have played a lil better defence. If dey tallman captain wasn't suspended ah frighten for what might have happened. Wha we really need is for de other men besides whitley to stand up and punish teams so dey have to pay attention to de other men and give latas time to do he ting. When ah say punish ah doh mean to spin 5 time and makes trinis bawl yuh know, ah mean to put a cross directly on a man head or foot to score, or a decisive pass to split a defence open. We doh do dis at all, so de other team game plan is usually  to hustle Latas with couple men , and recover to he decent playing but not at all dangerous teammates. Remember people, big games are de hardest games usually against de best teams so it easy fuh tings not to go your way. Is as we like to say a team game. Using Ato as an example, if trini in a 4 x 100 relay against grenada and ato get de baton 20 m behind in de last leg he might still bring we back, but he couldn't bring dem back if dey was against USA. Help Latas instead of ponging de man nah, he is still we most valuable creative player.

Ah sure you and yuh alleged air spanner does pay to go and play in de people and dem indoor leagues to advantage some 67 year old guatemalan claiming dey from brazil. It have one professional indoor soccer league in de states and ah didn't see no MORVANTMAN on de rosters. Look it up under misl.net. If you making 3000 us dollars in per diem you must be on de miami heat or orlando magic. Ah wonder how much of dem 10 thousand posts of yours have any kinda truth in dem. Anyhow ah come in peace eh because ah touch quite a few morvant tings with powder on dey neck and name belt ah meet on de promenade, so vibes it up!! ;D

These players make more money than any locally based pro in Trinidad and most in de a-league. Dat is de reason for playing indoor or futsal type ball in de states. Quality is quality anyway and we should have someone take a look. Boney not up to it physically, Rique may not have de experience, but Bailey is a definite threat on de ball and Regis is a very good wingback. These two have outdoor experience in de a-league. Ask Sancho and  Avery, dey will tell yuh.   ;D  By de way Morvantman these indoor players are professionals who make at least $3000 US a month, dis is not small goal on yuh blasted block

Joel Bailey playing indoor ball in Baltimore. Even though Lincoln and dem men aware of de talented Trini players in de indoor league in de states, dey refuse to give de men respect and even take a look at dem. Bailey, Boney, Regis, Rique in indoor and quite a few outdoor, but we doh seem to scout US based players well enough. Allyuh please send a scout to look at these players fuh real. From what i've heard these guys are interested but because they don't play for outdoor teams and can't be viewed in action on tapes, they have no other avenue to show their skills other than pay their way to come home and try to catch a few practices here and there. Don't waste de talent Beenie, check out these guys

Allyuh fellas remember also that college ball in de states is amateur and de players really should not be compared to professional players even in de states. Remember a certain midfielder(Rahim) play for  college champion Uconn a few years back and was de midfield maestro who can't even make we roster now.

« on: November 25, 2005, 02:57:47 PM »
Allyuh young boys ain't have a clue wha allyuh talking bout. Intercol since 1985 has been heading steadily downhill. Teams were older, bigger, better back in de day. When John D and Sando Tech get throw out and dey start clamping down on man repeating 3 and 4 times, de football change. Couple top players on a team doh make dat team great. Compre 77, 78; St. Augustine 81, Sando Tech 85, signall hill, el dorado 86 was de last set of powerhouse teams. College ball in de 90's on is like wha u-16 used to be like back in de day.

« on: November 25, 2005, 02:34:01 PM »
De Full 90 good fellas. It has been around for a couple years now especially in indoor football where de action is a lil more furious. Very ugly, but worth a try especially if yuh had any previous head injuries or yuh already chupid and cyah afford to lose any more brain cells.

Red rover trying to mess with he pardnah head boss. While regis is a capable player , he is not on any waggonist trying to get on the team, please ignore that post which i believe was removed

Dat 1-1 is a good result for we. I feel if it was 0-0 draw or a slim victory for we, de boys woulda play wednesday like dey have something to lose. Since Beenie come thru de best games were usually de must win at all costs games. Licks in Bahrain arse tomorrow. Ah would really like to see some more competence and composure on de ball from our defenders though, as that would bring out de 99 bahrainis camped out in dey midfield area.

Football / Re: What about some added incentive for de boys?
« on: November 10, 2005, 03:36:24 PM »
Besides Yorke, Shaka, Stern, Andrews and Latas, you really think dem man making dat type of money? 7000-50000 POUNDS? Yuh must be mad. All de above mentioned should be between 2000 and 15000 pounds per week. Man like Avery making like 50000 US dollars for de entire year. Allyuh feel dem fellas so well off dat financial incentives doh make a difference? On de field everybody going to give dey all, but what is de incentive to train like a true professional every day when yuh have to worry bout taking care of yuh family too. Most of de players make regular salaries dat might translate well if dey were living in Trini and making foreign money. Example: Average salaries (1) League 1 in England (500 pounds per week which is maybe a little over $3000 US per month(2) US indoor professional ($3000 per month) (3)US bank teller ($2400 per month). This means Tallest, Sancho, Scotland, Birchall and all dem man living like Boney, Demmin, Sealy, Regis, Rique or a regular worker in de US. Why these fellas shouldn't receive a financial incentive to big up dey country like all de other players all over de world? These are examples of de national players that are making a decent living from de game, so you can imagine de help dat a lil bonus would be for de local ones.

Football / Re: Fortunes of our 2001 U-17 team
« on: November 09, 2005, 09:19:07 PM »
Allyuh fellas ent realize dat it not worth it to come home from dem american schools to try to play football. Dem fellas going to american schools at ages ranging from 17-20. De local leagues not paying enough to make a decent living, so after colleges league why stay to play home if yuh still have to work to handle yuh business, Yuh cyah train at a high level when yuh wukkin whole day. When opportunity come up to play at an American school, it usually mean a degree and a chance to make some decent money. Yuh could take a shot at coming home for a game or 2 if yuh get callback, but yuh could hardly find de time to come home to train for too long without being paid. Times changing lil bit now as de opportunity for younger players to go foreign opening up, and when we buss Bahrain ass it will be even better. All ah really saying is dat dis is a life thing yuh know. Everybody like dey favourite player to continue mashing up people, but who feeding him if some big club doh sign him later?

As a player myself, i understand wha Latas going thru. Smokin is a personal thing, if yuh cyah really play yuh coach going to say something , if yuh could get on yuh get certain perks. Most younger players wouldn't even get an opportunity if dey light up around de wrong people, but established professional  players are usually allowed a li leeway if dey handling dey business on de field .It maybe a lil irresponsible as professional players are public figures, but I wouldn't say stupid as latas shouldn't be raising yuh children fuh yuh regardless of he skill. To put it straight, Latas could smoke, glenton wolfe not allowed to, de spalkman could jump on de charter plane to go costa rica, knd wasn't gettin past customs. Dat is life, live with it.

Some of de professional indoor players in de US supposedly interested in coming back to play too. Right now we have Shawn Boney in Phiily, Wendell Regis and Joel Bailey in Baltimore, and Addae Rique in St. Louis. Dey would add some good experience to de skill we already have on de team.

Mr. Skywalker, ollivierre started playin in 86' and Rocke stopped playin in 85'.  In 87' when we put de cuttail on Fatima we had a nice team, but only turn it around late when Martin change alot of positions. Stenwyn Joseph (no name player) came in upfront to cause problems, Damien Cooper played in the middle with Moze, Regis( who was de second leading scorer after Kona) went to play sweeper.CIC held the ball better and the Spalksman and de redhead never troble de defence. Some of allyuh fellas gettin old and memory fading. Hope allyuh remember wha school allyuh really went to. ;D

« on: April 25, 2005, 08:39:28 PM »
Doh know bout de European figures yuh quote dey, but de US$ not correct at all. No way Glenn and dem fellas making more than 3000 $ a month. De top players in MLS making good money, but de middle class averaging between $40-60 thousand a year. Most of de MLS players doh, make between $28-40 thousand for de year. All de trinis in de bottom of de pay structure.
