Sound like a sales pitch to me.
Somebody in EPL start enquiries and this kind of statement is to point out value.

Any 20-goal championship striker is worthy of a run in the Prem.

Actually, Trundle has never scored 20 goals in a League Championship season....only 7 goals so far.

And Swansea has not been in the championship division with Lee Trundle either. Plus he fail to make the grade at Bristol City

Trundle has had his injury worries while playing for Bristol City, but i am sure the Swansea faithful have forgotten him by now.

I remember when they were questioning if Scotland was worthy enough to fill his shoes.....lol.

Lee Trundle is Swansea's Latapy.

If Theobald turn beast, sign a contract with Chelsea and carry de national team on his shoulders to de World Cup second round (twice), he still wouldn't be as beloved by most Trinis as Latapy is.

Same deal with Scotty vs Trundle. Scotty may have accomplished more, but he's no Trundle in people's hearts.

Wow! I hadn't realized what kind of season Scotland has been having so far.

Very impressive!

Swansea City is a great place for Jason Scotland to be

Swansea City is a great place for Jason Scotland to be
By Mark Shail & Dave Smith  (givemefootball.com)

Jason Scotland, who was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year, has scored over 50 goals in his two years at Swansea and has understandably become a wanted man.

But manager Roberto Martinez is determined to hang on to his prized asset and says: “He is under contract to he is going to be here in August.

“We don’t need to sell him and we want him to be an important player for us next season. Jason is a late developer. I don’t think he is the same as other players of his age.

“His best years are in front of him. He’s not like a normal 30-year-old where, having started at 18 his body is damaged. Jason is exactly the opposite so the older he gets, the more experienced and clinical he will be and he has many, many years left in him.”

The 30-year-old Trinidad & Tobago international admitted earlier this week that he would be prepared to leave Swansea after failing to make the Championship play-offs.

But agent Mike Berry believes his client is prepared to put his top flight ambitions on hold and concentrate on getting there with Swansea - provided his contract is extended beyond the end of next season when it is currently due to expire.

"I firmly believe that Swansea have got a jewel in Jason," Berry told the South Wales Evening Post. "It makes sense to me for them to offer him a deal which will keep him at the club for another three or four years.

"To me, Jason at Swansea is a marriage made in heaven, so why let him go and then bring in an untried striker.”

I find Berry finally make sense there. No offence Scotty, but you find a club that suit your style of play. Yes you can make it to in the Premier League, but i feel going there going to a manager who doh know how to handle you will result in you becoming 'damaged goods' by age 31.

And then it will be horrors to find a wuk, like other formerly prolific strikers will be able to attest to come july...

Swans in talks to keep star striker Jason Scotland
By Chris Wathan (Wales On Sunday)

SWANSEA CITY have made their move to keep hold of star striker Jason Scotland.

The 24-goal hero, the club’s top scorer for the past two seasons, has been the subject of growing speculation with Fulham and Middlesbrough among several clubs linked with a big-money move for his services.

But now Wales on Sunday understands Swans chiefs have opened talks with the Trinidad and Tobago international about extending his Liberty Stadium stay.

Scotland, who arrived from St Johnstone in a £25,000 switch two years ago, signed an improved deal this time last year when his League One goal-scoring exploits first alerted rival clubs to his ability.

And despite being linked with a step up to the Premier League after an explosive debut Championship season, Scotland admitted recently he would be happy to extend his South Wales stay.

As it stands, the 30-year-old’s contract is due to expire next summer – but he insisted he would only sign if the deal was right with the player believing his 53 goals in 102 appearances deserved reward.

Now it seems the Swans board are prepared to try and hammer out a deal to extend Scotland’s stay.

Keeping hold of Scotland would be a message of intent from Swansea, who stood firm when playmaker Ferrie Bodde became a wanted man last summer.

And Swans boss Roberto Martinez has already warned any would-be suitors they will have to pay top whack for his top players as the summer sales begin.

Yet it is known Martinez is not willing to compromise the wage-structure at the Liberty, his firm stance proven when he refused to bow to Andy Robinson’s wage demands last summer and allowed him to leave on a free.

But it does seem Martinez is now ready to flex a bit more muscle in the transfer market as he bids to build on a stunning first year in the second-tier, with Motherwell boss Mark McGhee yesterday admitting the SPL side were blown out of the water by Swansea in signing striker Stephen Dobbie from Queen of the South.

And now the Spaniard is weighing up his options as he seeks to land former Hearts ace Saulius Mikoliunas, the wideman awaiting an offer after initial Liberty Stadium talks.

Southampton’s financial situation continues to cloud progress on any deal for Nathan Dyer, while Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies has revealed he is ready to start discussing Paul Anderson’s future with Liverpool.

Davies wants Anderson on a permanent deal after his loan stay at the City Ground but Swansea are thought to be interested in bringing the pace ace back to South Wales.
The Conquering Lion of Judah shall break every chain.
