W Connection whips Petrotrin in Under-18 final.

W Connection emerged new holders of the T&T Pro League Under-18 Division Knockout title with a 3-1 win over United Petrotrin on Saturday. Javed Mohammed gave the “Oilmen” a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva. However it lasted nine minutes as Christian Filipie Ocoro got W Connection on level terms in the 25th minute. Five minutes later Aaron Downing netted to put W Connection 2-1 ahead while Matthew Bartholomew sealed the win with his 72nd minute strike.
In the semifinals which was played at the same venue one week earlier, W Connection ousted last year’s winner CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh 2-0 with Bartholomew and Ocoro on target. Petrotrin reached the final when they they got the better of Joe Public 5-4 on penalty-kicks after a 0-0 draw. The San Juan Jabloteh Under-14 Division exacted revenge for their senior peers when they outlasted W Connection 4-3 on penalty-kicks in their age-group final at the same venue on Sunday.
