Crab Connection captain Marlon Warner had a key role in his team’s 3-1 drubbing of M&M Harvard, at the San Juan Senior Comprehensive school ground, Bourg Malatresse, yesterday
Playing on a damp afternoon, which made field conditions difficult, Warner struck a first-half double to send Crab on its way to a second win in four matches, hitting the target in the 2nd and 35th minutes.
In the second half, Crab continued to dominate proceedings but Harvard showed greater fighting spirit, with Christon Freitas forcing a great save from Achim Pursue, in goal for Crab.
Shortly after, Warner again sparked to life in the 83rd minute, as he drew the attention of the Harvard defence before teeing up Brain Wallace, who finished with great aplomb from just inside the area.
The 85th minute Harvard goal, which saved them some blushes, was well executed, as captain Seon Jack collected a long pass from the back, before finding Freitas’ head with a well weighted cross, which was dispatched out of Pursue’s reach and into the back of the net.
League leaders cut down
Police FC saw its unbeaten streak snapped by Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix, who won the match 4-2 at the Caanan ground, Bon Accord, Tobago. Dominique Kerr scored in the 11th and 47th minutes, Shelton Williams struck in the 22nd and Trevor Henry recorded a 43rd minute goal. Police’s Christopher Sam scored in the 8th, while Kurt Danclair netted in the 20th minute.
